Re: Question

Hey being realistic shouldn’t be frowned upon.  Optimism honestly can truly only bring disappointment. November will tell our fate.

A true optimist won't let a setback get them down.  tongue

But then again, apparently the private company that our govt outsourced test and trace to don't know not to use spreadsheets for a) databases and b) sensitive data. *facepalm*

Imagine having a competent government.

Couldn’t be me.

Re: Question

You'd be surprised. I suspect the reason that so many of our MPs are incompetents ninnies is because they're so far removed from what normal life is that they just don't care what effects their decisions have on most people because it will never affect them.

Take the COVID crisis as an example, the person put in charge of Tests & Trace over here is on record saying that no one could've predicted the surge in demand for testing in September. Literally every normal person could because they all know that when the kids go back to school, that's when everyone gets sick.

Re: Question

It’s better than having the most powerful person in your country say that it’s a hoax, then going on to blame the other political party for what happens, then then, not taking responsibility for over 200,000 dead, but earlier in life you claimed that 3 I think; deaths are the hands of the President.

Like it’s rough, and saddening.

Re: Question

In fairness that could easily describe the UK too.

Our PM hasn't described it as a hoax, but boasted about shaking hands with everyone in a COVID ward (spoiler, he got it). This govt has never taken responsibility for literally anything they've done (they still blame the opposition who've been out of power for 10 years). I don't think our PM has claimed any deaths are the fault of a previous PM, but he has called the leader of the opposition an opportunist (for suggesting we might need stronger restrictions) when he is a serial opportunist himself.

It'll be fun at the end of January when the whole Brexit thing comes into effect.

Re: Question

I'm pretty good at inane chatter once I get going. So, what'd you want? Video games? TV? Movies? Books? Other?

If you've nothing in particular in mind I was going to look up strategy on High Dragons in Dragon Age Origins because a discussion I had yesterday reminded me I'd never managed to crack those. So I'm sure there's a strategy discussion/rant about that video game in there somewhere.

Re: Question

Honestly. Name it. And I’ll react super good like.

I have multiple Dragon Age games but haven’t really started them.

Re: Question

What? Best impulse buy from back in the day when you could go into a shop that still had PC games! Three games for a tenner, picked up the 1st two Dragon Ages and then something daft like Sim City or Rollercoaster Tycoon...

But seriously, I love the Dragon Age games. I just suck at that type of combat apparently. I think the problem is that I'm not a micromanager so I tend to just sort of forget that I need to issue commands to the rest of my party before their health hits something stupid.

And yes you can set tactics up - which I do - but somehow it never seems to quite work well enough.

Or I just suck at video games, which is a possibility I supposed. XD

Re: Question

Sometimes games are like Rock Paper Scissors. The system can beat the game, the game can beat the player, and the player can beat the system.

Re: Question

We spent hundreds of hours and a few years driving the story lines and plots forward in here and I have missed it so much.

Plots for what? Just general Star Wars fanfic or video games in general? (Sorry the topic of this conv sorta diverged.)

Re: Question

We would start with the backdrop of what is or has happened, then we make are characters detailed or not so much so. We developed our own character(s) the way we wanted them to and the plots mainly settled around the star wars universe from anywhere from before or after Revan's time or during Revan's time. The plots were also mixed of what we knew from the games and movies which added greatly to what the stories turned into later down the road. We could have anywhere from 5 to 6 members in any given rpg with 1 to 5 different characters going. It was a amazing time on the site.

Re: Question

I just about remember when there was more than three people who frequented this site. lol

But that does sound pretty cool.

Re: Question

Yeah that was the good old days when you could easily post 200-300 posts a night too.

Re: Question

I think I may be the only member besides Revan, that can trace my membership back to the original site. This is the 2nd rendition of the site. The Previous Site was in existence from 2003-2006 before a massive hacking attack crippled the first site. Revan's amazing passion for the site saved the site by creating a new one ( I even created one... but revans platform was solid*** as eveicence of its existence still) . The members never recovered the breach unfortunately. But all of us have had an essential role in getting us to this point.

Re: Question

I agree even though I joined this current site and was never a member of the original site all the members that were active when I joined had this site rocking with up to date topics and zany rgps that just brought new members to the site in a steady stream. Granted a lot of the members only posted a few times and never returned but a elite few continued to post everyday and night to keep this site alive for future members.
