Dantooine: Jedi Training Academy

Andria Trelyve: age 16

Mical Ducan: age 15

Ariel Revan: age 25

Malak Kelto: age 25

Several weeks later after her Master’s death, Andria Trelyve is now taken the role of being an assistant. Master Artis is in charge of the scholarly archives here on Dantooine. She always needed help and that’s why she chose Andria. Artis didn’t feel ready to take on a Apprentice but an assistant is always needed. There were others to choose but they were too busy in their others duties.

Andria walked happily with every step in the Academy. Her hair tied up in a ponytail and wearing a moonstone necklace she got from Mical for her birthday. She held a load of books in her hands. She wasn’t used to the weight of them quite yet. That’s why she always trips a little sometimes. Even if she fell down, she’s up and ready to keep moving. Everyone can notice this. There are people that admire her and others that just hate her, even envied her. The younglings followed behind her footsteps and some Masters that just disliked her intensly.

“Here you go, Master Artis. I taken notes on constructing lightsabers. Is there anything else you wished me to do?” Andria heaved as she placed the load on Artis’s desk. Younglings gathered around Andria, interupting Artis.

“Sister Andria! Sister Andria! Are going to read us the tale of Ulic Qel-Droma? Come on, you promised!” They tugged at her robes, begging.

“Younglings!” Artis yelled. “Calm down!”

“Yes, Master,” They lowered their heads down in shame.

“I’ll read you that story,” Artis said. “Andria has worked hard today and needs a break.”

“Are you sure, Master?” Andria asked. “I could read that story if you wish.”

“No, that’s it for right now,” Artis said. “Go on and take a break for two hours. But come back after that.”

“Thank you, Master. I will.” Andria bowed.

When Andria headed out into the court yard, she saw Mical Ducan waiting for her outside as always.

“Hi, Mical!” Andria waved. “You don’t have to wait for me here you know. Sometimes I stay indoors all day.”

“I just feel like it. Has Master Artis worked you hard today?” Mical asked.

“It’s like that everyday,” Andria seated herself down next to him. “Have you seen Revan and Malak today?”

“No, I haven’t. I think they went on another mission on the Outer Rim. As usual.”

“Oh,” Andria said disappointed. “Revan said she was going to help me train.”

“Don’t fret about it. They’ll be back soon,” Mical took Andria’s hand and kissed it. “That necklace I gave you makes you look lovely.”

“Stop treating me like a lady – ’cause I’m not. I’m a total washout. I’m not even a Jedi.” She pulled her hand away.

“So? I don’t even have a Master yet.”

“What!? If nobody chooses you soon, you’ll be sent to Telos. Has anyone considered you?”

“Master Dorak, Master Vrook, Master Vandar. Many of them did. But I said no to all of them.” Mical shrugged.

“What in space were you thinking!? You just ruined your chance to become a Jedi Knight!”

“If I become a Jedi Knight, then I can’t see you as much as I want to. To offer my help when you need it most. Besides, I told the Masters I wanted you as my Master.”

“Me!? You have got to be kidding.” Andria laughed.

Mical looked at Andria, looking hurt at what she said.

“I’m sorry. It’s just that I’m not a Master. Even if I was, what could I offer to teach?”

“I don’t care whether you are a Master or not! It’s not about that! You have so much to offer to us. People look up to you for help. Your knowledge of the Force is highly valuable!”

Andria blushed. “I- I… I thank you for your kind words. I don’t think the Council would allow me to be your Master.”

“You can teach me in secret. Just the two of us.”

Andria doesn’t know what to say. She always wanted to teach. In doing so, she learns something new from her students. Nobody would ever want to listen to a sixteen year old girl compared to Master Vandar who is much older and wiser than she.

“Alright, I will teach you when I have time,” Andria said as Mical grinned. “But promise me that you will accept one of the Masters’ offers. They’re much wiser than me.”

“I promise.”

“I’m glad. Mical, why are staring at me like that?”

“What do you mean?”

“It’s like you’re admiring me or something like that.”

“It’s because you inspired me as you do others and have a strength that perfectly matches your beauty.”

“Mical, are you hitting on me?”

“What does that term ‘hitting on’ mean?”

“Never mind,” Andria smiled as she roughed around Mical’s hair. “I got to get going. Time to get back to work. Maybe I’ll see you tomorrow.” She kissed him on the cheek and left.

“Good, Andria. You’re back. Here’s another stack of paperwork. Get started and get this done by tomorrow.”

“Yes, Master Artis.” Andria muttered as she seated herself at her desk and began to work the night away.

By morning, Andria was almost done but fell asleep in the piles of work. Artis saw this but she didn’t get angry. She smiled at how peaceful Andria slept. She took the unfinished and finished work off the desk and placed a blanket over her shoulders to let her sleep some more. Andria stirred at her touch and saw how she drooled. She quickly wiped it with her sleeve. Artis was there.

“Uh, good morning Master,” Andria started. “I’m sorry. I fell asleep and didn’t finished the paperwork.”

“No need to worry about it. I’ll finish it for you. Go on and sleep a bit more.” Artis waved her hand.

“I don’t want to, Master. I’m ready to work.” Andria said as she stood up but she looks tired.

Artis sees that there’s no point with arguing with the girl. “Alright, I need you to get ready and eat something then. Master Kavar is going to arrive soon.”

“Master Kavar is coming! I better get my lightsaber!” Andria exclamined with excitement. Whenever Kavar comes to the Academy when he can, he helps tighting up Andria’s lightsaber moves in combat.

Scholarly archives may not be the most exciting thing for an adolescent to manage. Andria displayed diligence and a sense of purpose in the Academy. She sometimes takes over Artis’s tasks. She has a potential for nobler things in life. However, being the youth that she was like anyone her age, she craved excitement.

Artis watched the practice battle from the side lines. She reluctantly left them to it whenever they spar. Andria and Master Kavar entered into the ring. They bowed down to each other in respect.

Andria activated her green lightsaber and charged at Master Kavar. Kavar unleashed his blue double lightsabers and block her attack. Andria pushed harder while Kavar sweep kicked her leg. She felled down hard on her back. It seems that she’ll quit but she keeps getting up from each fall, ready to continue because she knows it’s not over until she says so.

“You win, Master,” Andria breathed heavily. “You’re the victor. This time.” She felled down to her knees.

Her frequent defeats should pulled her head out of the clouds, making her realize her own limitations. But it did not. She is strong in her heart and soul.

Artis stood up. “Kavar, take it easy on Andria. She’s still learning how to do the techniques correctly!”

“I’m sorry. It was Andria’s idea for me to go hard on her.” Kavar deactivated his lightsabers.

Artis walked over to Andria, sat down next to her, and held her close. “Are you hurt, Andria?”

“No, I’m not. I lost again. I’ll never becoming a Jedi, am I?” Andria sniffed.

“If you keep practicing the moves, kid, you will improve. You’re getting better each time I get here.” Kavar remarked.

“Really?” Andria looked at Kavar as she hugged him.

“Yes, I could never be more sure in my life. Here, you’re thirsty. Have some water, kid.” Kavar handed Andria a jug of water.

Andria took a long sip and gave him the jug back. “Thanks. I got to get going now. Later!”

Outside the Courtyard

“Mical, come meditate with me. Our training begins now.”

Andria and Mical meditated half the day away. They focused on each other’s thoughts and emotions. Time passed by fast around them. But time for them passed very slowly. After that, they faced each other in combat but it had to end abruptly. Andria sensed a presence she longed sense in a long time. Ariel Revan and Malak Kelto have returned to Dantooine from their mission.

“Ariel! Ariel! Remember me? It’s Andria!” She called out to them.

Revan turned to look at Andria. She has changed. Her face not recognizable. She looks old and haggard despite her young age. “Please do not disturb me Andria. I have other matters to attend to. Where is the Council? I must speak to them. It’s urgent.”

“Inside the Academy,” Andria replied. “What happened to you? You look so sad about something.”

“I said not now. Now stand aside.”

“What’s her problem?” Andria asked herself as Revan walked away.

“Do you want to know, Andria?” Malak asked her.

“Oh, Malak. Please excuse me. I didn’t notice you are still here.” Andria bowed politely to him.

“There’s no need for that. We are all equals here.”

“So are you going to tell me what’s wrong with Revan.”

“Revan needs to ask the Council for help.”

“Help for what? What’s going on here?”

“I have to get going. I’ll explain tonight with the others. Meet me by the lake. I promise I’ll tell you everything or at least the news will.”

I had to end Part Three there. Sorry, I had to because of spoilers and it’s Part Four. At least it’s getting there right?

Well, Part Four is coming up soon. I hope. I think that’s the last part and final ending of Precious Memories then soon leads to Bonds of Fate: Jedi Exile into Andria’s point of view (my next story- I don’t know when to submit it though). I know, I hate it when things must come to an end.

“You may silence the pen but never the writer!”
