hmmm.....I have a friend who's wife is originally from Scottish and they go to visit family there a lot; and they said that the movie got his execution pretty much right on.

One thing they did say was wrong with the film was that Mel Gibson was too short to be Wallace. He was huge, which was also why he was able to gather such a large following among the people without being a noble.

But also, when the English re-conquered Scotland, they destroyed all of the Scottish history books. So there are no surviving original works to point to as conclusive evidence.

Yeah, That's true and I think that Wallace was 6'4" but I am not sure.

Plus people back then were not that tall because I believe the av. height was 5'8".

The reason that people are taller today is because we have better choices of food and we did not have to go out and hunt for food or go days without eating like people back then did.

It looks that way, Another reason that people were smaller back then was that they married or had kids by people who were kin to them because that stuff was not against the law like it is now and thank the people who came up with that law.
