Need Help Running Game

I just installed kotor2 on my new pc which is vista. I had the original start up problem and was fixed by the patch in the thread that is pinned. Now when i try to start the game i go through the initial lucasarts and obsidian logo's and then the black screnn of death.  I have tried everything that I have been able to find to fix the problem. anyone have any suggestions?
