Topic: The Mandolorian

What do we think.....

I am not a fan of the cannon being heavily taken from the clone wars cartoon. But I am a fan of the show and its directors.

I think that were are going to stop seeing movies and have series like this and obi wans.

Re: The Mandolorian

I agree with you statement on less movies and more series just because it is cheaper to do.

It does bother me that they keep referring to the baby Whil or Yoda's race as baby Yoda when we all know that Yoda would be 100's of years old at this time in the Mandolorian. Yoda's race have always been very strong in the force and that is why in the old cannon Yoda race was wiped out save for a few members that were jedi or sith or already in hiding.

I do however like the touch they have added that once the Mandalorian completes a mission he gets a new part to his Mandalorian armor.

Re: The Mandolorian

I'm not so sure. There's at least three major ones (Netflix, Amazon & Disney+) plus a bunch of minor ones that are trying to keep exclusivity. So the competition will keep the prices relatively sane, hopefully.

Unless they want to move it so that people only have one subscription, but at this point I don't see how that can happen because they each offer different things. So people will either chop & change (ie pay for one for six months then move to a different one to get their content for a bit etc) because there'll be a max they'll be willing to pay.

Unless you know they form a monopoly in which all bets are off.

Re: The Mandolorian

Sometimes stories are just better told when given more time.

Series, I feel, have a better opportunity to please everyone.

Re: The Mandolorian

Plus with series you can reach a wider group of all age ranges then you could with movies. They can also pump out multiple seasons compared to the time it takes to make and release 1 movie.

Re: The Mandolorian

Yeah but when a movie comes out, it just feels different.

They're different formats suited to telling different stories better/worse.

Re: The Mandolorian

WELL OBVIOUSLY!!!!!

Still though, movies have a more epic feel to them. Like mass importance. But you get less of the story, so it’s honestly mega-preference based. I prefer video game story telling to “traditional” media.

Re: The Mandolorian

Ted talk?

Tbf I think it depends. I love some movies as much as I love some TV shows. Though I find it hard to find the will to watch movies 'cause they're often so, so long.

(Also Hot Fuzz is fricking awesome and should be recommended to anyone who loves action comedy movies.)

Re: The Mandolorian

Yes.

Let me guess though, could you binge like 6 episodes of a tv show you like?

Re: The Mandolorian

I was asking what a ted talk was.  lol

And yeah, that does happen, but I rarely start off planning to binge watch however many episodes. That more comes down to a "sod it, I'm comfy and lazy and hitting next is easier than thinking of what else to do".

(Have you never taken a shortcut before?)

Edit: don't use Android keyboard emojis because it will remove everything you typed afterwards.

Re: The Mandolorian

Honestly I’d just tell you look them up on the internet, they describe themselves better.

It just becomes a disease at that point. Sudden binging disorder.
