Topic: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Out of you party members how many and who have you trained to use the Force?

I have trained the Handmaiden ever time I play and I have trained Atton a couple of times and even Mira when playing the lightside. Bio-Dur is the only one that I have not trained to use the Force but I have started playing the game last night and this time I will do my best to train him as a SITH.  cool

I've trained all possible. The disciple mical, Handmaiden, Bao, and Atton.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Did you ever get Mira trained because I did and I thought she was too weak as a jedi.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Mira is hardest to train. Because you need too much influence with her. And once you get it it's late in the game and she gets too few levels as a Jedi. And by far Jedi Sentinel is the weakest class in the game.

The strongest are Sith Lord and then Jedi Weapon Master.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

I agree with you George on both points and I would rather have the Wookie over Mira any day.

I always pick Sith Lord because the other classes are only good if you are playing a supporting role in your party and not the lead.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

What up guys. big_smile

I got back to playing through this recently on the Xbox (actually doing it backwards compatible 360 which is laggy as crap but whatever), and the influence system is... interesting. DA:O was better IMO, but if you look up the guides you can make it work pretty well. Bao-Dur is influenced outside the Ebon Hawk during events, not conversations. It's different than BioWare's conversation driven system, but basically just have him in your party and do lightside things to gain influence with him, and after a couple times you can talk to him about the war and tell him something to the effect that the Force can help him deal with his anger and hate of the Mandalorians. There are a couple of good places on Dxun and Dantooine to influence him, like sparing the wounded Mandalorian on the forest moon.

Mira is best as a ranged character with a repeater or blaster rifle (well, next to HK). She's ok as a Force user but I think that's more of just a perk to her character rather than a necessity.

Recently found this and it sums up this issue perfectly...

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Also, on Dantooine there is a side quest to find some atmospheric sensors. Put Bao-Dur in your party for that quest and let him inspect the sensors when you find them for some influence.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Bao-Dur dose make it worth it to train him in the ways of the jedi/Sith but if you miss the point in the convo that you need with him to train him then it will not come up again. So make sure you save before you talk to anyone so if you miss some thing or loss influence then you can load when you saved.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

You're right. That makes him probably the most difficult to train. Since you gain influence with most of the others through dialogue, it can catch you off guard if you try to talk to Bao dur and that comes up before you're ready.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Very true but I find that the Handmaiden is the easiest to train in the ways of the force but Atton takes alittle more stealth in the convos and getting to know him to train him tho.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

She is by far my favorite, although there isn't really a badly done character in this game. I played thru as a female exile and its not the same without her. Btw, have you ever used Jolee to rescue you on Malaks ship in the first game? I just recently saw his rescue storyline and its hilarious.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Yeah, I used Jolee once and laughed about the whole time.

Every time I have played the game I made sure to train Brianna (HandM.) in the ways of the force. I have found if you train at least 2 of your party members in the way of the force then you have a easier time later on in the game.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

It was really good that they added the training/influence option. I wish they would have had time to add loyalty missions like they did in Mass Effect 2, but the training being open to either lightside or darkside (depending on the PC allignment) was a really nice touch.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Yeah and I liked if you feel to the darkside so did they because I hated losing Jolee and Jahani in KOTOR I when playing on the Darkside.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

I like that 2 gave you that option rather than the "kill all of your party members" darkside ending in KOTOR 1. It makes much more sense; I really didn't think that even Dark Lord of the Sith Revan would have killed all of those party members because he was too smart for that. He would have known how to influence them and use them on his side rather than just kill them off.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Very true but in KOTOR I all the characters that I lost on the Darkside was Jolee and Jahani because I killed them and Carth who ran off to where ever. I had Bastila, HK, T3-M4, Candours, Mission and the Wookie all join me to take the Star Forge. Zaalbar kept his life promise to me and after doing the hunt for Mission's brother Mission joined me in the end too.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

That's interesting. I know there is at least one DS scenario where ***SPOILERS***  you have Zaalbar kill Mission and then you have to kill Zaalbar.

Re: Trianing Party Members to use the Force

Yeah, I have had Zaalbar kill Mission a few times but if you have the domante skill to it's highest then they both join you because they can't say no.
