Topic: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

So for Christmas I got some Barnes and Nobles gift cards. I figured it was high time I started this trilogy. So I bought all three and just got them in the mail. I'm starting "Path of Destruction" as I type this. As I get farther along (half way through, just before the end, and the start of a knew one.) I will post my thoughts and opinions on the books. It's Drew Karpyshyn and I very enjoy his writing and I also heard that Revan appears in this trilogy as a holocron, so I'm pretty stoked about that. Anyway I'll keep y'all posted. If any of you have this trilogy, maybe you might want to read along and post as I post. Then once I am fully finished we can discuss the books, and Darth Bane so as to keep the topic active! Anyway hope you'll stick around with me. I'll post on this topic periodically.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

I just finished part one of "Path of Destruction." Very interesting.

The beginning wasn't too slow, but jumped quickly past his military exploits, and got quickly to him becoming a Sith. Bane seems like a good person at heart with a lot of hate. I am enjoying this book so far, and I can tell Darth Bane is going to quickly become one of my favourite Sith.

Also the prologue was...short and abrupt.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Just finished part two and wow. Darth Bane is a badass. His first few months at the Sith academy, his loss of power, and his regaining his power. All very cool. My favourite however was when he quotes Darth Revan to Lord Kas'im. Simply amazing.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

I have also read this book and I too liked how he started in the military and later joined the Academy. It starts off slow but once the joins the Academy it picks up quick and it is action after action and I also like the idea of a Light Whip which is just badass.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

I finished "Path of Destruction" and wow that book is killer...literally almost everybody dies. Bane is hardcore the way he crushes the skull of the dying Sith, and then chokes and crushes Qordis' body. It's wild. The ending was really cool, the thought bomb is a crazy cool technique. I just read the first chapter of "Rule of Two." Really looking forward to it. Almost wish Bane was in some Star Wars video games. Or if he got his own spin off movie. Same with Revan.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

I agree the thought bomb was a awesome part of the book and it would be awesome to have a spin off movie or game about Bane. I have not read the Rule of Two yet but I have been looking for the book. I will how ever keep reading your posts because that would not want me to not read the other 2 books it would just want me to read them more.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Well several chapters into Rule of Two and damn. It's got a lot more action. Banes new apprentice Zannah is a bad ass and a half. She literally blew off her cousins hand with the force to save his life, and snapped to necks of two Jedi. Like brutal. So far I'm really digging this book, definitely looking forward to more of the meaty part, and I really wish there was a Darth Bane game.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Damn, She has to be one of the strongest female force users outside of the games, movies and tv shows.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

I definitely agree. I haven't been able to read much the past few days but I am definitely looking forward to more of book two. I'll keep posting more as I read.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Sounds great and if any planets in the book that's not in the games and movies you run across post them too because I always like to hear of new planets and places.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Well at chapter 10 book 2 leaps ten years ahead. So that was kind of a shock. I just got to this chapter. The Jedi "Protganist" is like a young Obi-Wan and Zannah is even more of a badass. She brutally murdered 4 people to arrive on Onderon. It was kids cool. Bane is increasingly awesome.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Book 2 sounds like it is packed full of action.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Indeed. It's finished most of the character building at this point and is now into the meat of the story.

Re: The Darth Bane Trilogy.

Okay, That time is when the Sith we know today got their start and from the first book we learn what lead to the rule of two.
