i have it for PC with Vista, but i didn't have to have a patch. is this KOTOR I or KOTOR II?

When I click play I just get the wheel of death in VISTA. The game will not play.

Oh, this happens a lot. I have delete the game. I think I only played it once. I got as far as getting the new dark jedi to turn good, then pooff
