ok so i installed KOTOR nice and easy on xp professional and every thing goes fine i go to play and at the picture of the ebon hawk at the start it gives me this error message
"< [][][]ei[][][][][]tt[] eo [][][][][][] ld [][]ci [][][][][][] do faab [][][][][] ^ []56"
and the [] is the box symbol please help would be awesome!
Do you have Vista, If so that is your problem becuase Vista sucks when it comes to play games. If you do not then you may not have the right amount of memory to play the game or you hard drive on your computer is to small to load and run the game. That is all I know that could make that show up but I hope that it helps you.

hey, my friend wants to play KotOR for the first time, but he is getting the same error as the OP. does anyone know of a patch or fix for this?
and yes he has Vista.
if u mean kotor 2 then: first he has to install a MSS.dll file and replace it with the one in the kotor 2 folder ill send u a pm were to download the mss file then he has to run in comptablity xp serivce pack 2 or windows 2000.
if um ean Kotor then he need to put it in comptabilty windows 2000
And if that still dose not work then it is because he has visita.
I might have suggestion. After trying what Slik Sandur said, Search through the entire KotOR_2 folder and set everything possible to run with windows 2000, even the files in the sub folders. If that doesn't work, than well, I got nothing. :mellow:
im glad i just have xbox
console games are much easier since you dont' have to worry about drivers and graphic cards and all that.
the only plus for pc is that u can hack and mod.
yeah, and there are a lot of other games available like strategy and such.
Agreed, downloading mods with you computer is awesome. Plus if your hit <windows><M> your walkthrough is right there, you don't have to keep up with so many papers.

Yeah, makes it a lot easier, although, both of the load times are kinda long.

I know what you mean because I did that 1 time and as soon as they went into the trash I needed it. So now I keep them on a book case by there selfs so if I need them I know where they are.
Good idea, I might try that. It sounds better than cramming them all into a single folder above the printer.
