If you only make the game for the X-Box One then they are stupid and crazy because I know I am not going to get a X-Box One and a lot of users also are not getting that system either.

If they do that it'll be because they're trying to force people into buying the console to get the game. Though I've never been convinced that strategy works.

I agree, and I only really called it strange because so many Jedi (light and dark alike) seem to believe that only extremes can work.
Jolee is one of my fave characters, for many reasons, but mostly his views on things in general. I kind of miss that he didn't get a cameo in the second game. And I think I had another point to add onto this, but I got distracted by Pointless and forgot what it was.

What about Vrook? And probably a few other select characters.
Also, he could be like Jolee and walk that strange line between the extremes...

Thank you. I really should remember to check this site more often.

Well isn't that part of the whole 'balance' thing as well? Jedi fall and Sith get redeemed. Isn't that the point of the Skywalker prophecy, fall and redemption to bring balance?

Also I'm sure it's mentioned more than once, or at least I can't help but remember more than one Jedi thinking that 'bringing balance to the Force' involved the eradication of evil. So maybe it's an effect of the Force, you know like how those who fall to the Dark Side sometimes fail to see it, and believe they are in control of the Force when 'it's really in control of them', and that it 'twists them up inside' etc etc. Well, maybe there's a counter effect for extreme Light Side scenarios that can blind them too.

Or maybe I'm thinking about it too much.

Maybe they were talking about removing both Light and Dark extremes and having entirely "grey" Jedi.

Or, writers aren't always that nitpicky and/or their proof readers were having an off day.

Or they were making a point that the extreme Light Jedi often don't realise that the Universe strives towards a natural balance (and in Star Wars that includes the Force) and therefore even if they eradicate the Sith, then more people/Jedi will simply 'fall' to replace them.

You live on this Forum, don't you? tongue

That is true. Though until they recently announced that Lucas Arts was being shut down with the Disney take over, I assumed that they were still making Star Wars games because I assumed that there'd always be a market for them.

But then again, if TOR was as bad as everyone says it was, I can understand why they might've reconsidered.

(I will point out that I don't know a lot about the history/current news of game releases. I was really only pointing out that they will try and rewrite/retcon etc etc anything they think they can get away with. No matter how well established.)

They can try, but I doubt the fans will accept it. There is too much material published already for them to retcon it in any acceptable way.

That won't necessarily stop them from trying. I know that Star Trek (possibly) has less published cannon (but still a substantial amount) and they decided to do away with most of that in one film. Admittedly it wasn't Disney in that case, but what's to say they won't try?

Isn't the Matale vs Sandral thing just the KOTOR version of Romeo and Juliet anyway?

Also, is Defiance (TV show) any good? Because I've seen trailers for it (annoyingly on a TV channel I don't have) and it looks pretty good, but I've been lied to by TV shows before.

from what George Lucas said back in the 80's that he wrote 12 films. The first 3 are about Anikan Skywalker, 4,5,6 are about Luke Skywalker so 7,8,9 are going to be about Luke's and Leia's children.

I thought there were books written about post episodes 4,5,6? Or are they not considered cannon?

And I reckon there'll be Sith, someone'll fall and try to bring them back. In what guise however, who can say? Other than the writers.

It would also be awesome to see Korriban in movie form too.

The problem with that might be that because you've seen bits of it, they might change it a little bit too much for the films and it might shatter the illusion. But then again, I suppose they've already made some of it, so how much can they change it?

Darth Jester wrote:

I wonder if they will have any Sith in it

Aren't the Sith in all the movies, or do you mean a specific Sith?

Thanks, things've been a bit busy recently, but hopefully they'll calm down and give me time to keep more stuff up to date.

Just thought you guys'd like to know you were right. Same game disk, same external hard drive, same game files, Windows 7, and works a treat.
(I finally had to replace my old laptop and got around to testing the game.)

I liked it.

It's been a while since I read them - like five years or so -, but from what I remember most of the history and cultural stuff is kept to pretty well. Though I remember there was an author's note at either the beginning or end explaining her choice to allow certain interpretations which shows she did research it.

Also the storyline was good, and there's some good character development stuff as well. But apart from that I can't remember a lot about the detail.

That sounds like a good book to look up.

The only book reccomendations I'd have are my vague list of favourites. Such as The Pellinor Series, Moon Riders, Harry Potter and the His Dark Materials series. There's also the Cadfael series, which were a little odd, but something must've made me read all of them.

Ressurecting topic two years later...

garbage.

besides the original, enterprise was the best version.

Eh, Enterprise had the potential to be really good, I can't help but think they blew it in numerous places though, or maybe that's because all I remember is the cop-out ending because it got cancelled.

Also, back to the topic of the new film, it was good, but was I the only one who got annoyed about them changing the timelines?
Also, isn't there a second one due out soon?

Ok, thank you guys. I never had any problems running other games on my computer, so I never thought it might be the operating system.
I take it that there's no known problems with other operating systems? Just for future reference.

Oh, I forgot to say I'd already tried uninstalling/reinstalling it. Oops.

I'm not sure what you mean by OC, but if you mean operating system, then it's Vista Basic.

Hi, I'm new here and not sure if this is the place to post technical questions, but...

Whenever I try to go to the Undercity in Taris, it blacks out, sometimes I get a faint image of what should load, but that's it, and my only option is to manually shut-down my computer and reboot.

I've looked for ways to solve it, but none of them have worked.

So far I've:
-Upgraded to game version 1.03, by both manually downloading the LucasArts web page patch and using the game updater tool.
-Upgraded graphics drivers for my computer.
-Upgraded the .exe file to avoid the Emulation error.
-Upgraded the .ini file with the "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" line.
-Switched off grass (and shadows) in the graphics options - which has been commonly cited as a solution to this problem.

If anyone knows of a way to fix this, or something to try, that would be really useful. Thanks.
