NOOO! That's rough. My buddy had a similar thing happen where his game bugged out right before the fight with Malak.

Yeah that was probably the point when Hovoth reached out to me as well. Guess I missed the rush. Oh well.

I've been doing good. Geez I think it's been like 9 years or more since I checked in here. Good to see the sites still somewhat alive. I see Jester still pops in, that's cool. How goes the Darkside my man? Haha. It's kinda funny, I just convinced a friend of mine to play KOTOR a few months ago; he was a bioware fan but had never played KOTOR before. He called me freaking out when the big reveal came. Still go back and play it myself periodically, so many good memories.

Doesn't look like Beautiful Chaos has been on in a few years. That sucks. I had an old email but last time I tried it it just bounced back as undeliverable, and I haven't been able to track her down.

Hey anyone that's still active. I finally cracked my account open again (trying to remember old passwords is a b*tch lol). Good old Hovoth reached out months ago but it took me this long to be able to log back in.

Anyways, how's everyone doing?

So far the Restored Content has been awesome. There was a Dustil Restored Content mod for Korriban that was the best so far. I'm in the middle of the M4-78 mod, and it's good for a fan made level, but you can definitely tell it was a fan made mod and not part of the game. The design is decent and the story is interesting but it's just not really compelling to play. But props to the team for putting it together.

The extended ending dlc explained that only part of the relays were disabled, not entirely destroyed. So they could be repaired eventually and used again. And the systems wouldn't have been wiped out, just cut off from each other for a time.

I'm sure it will tie in somehow given the ending of ME3 and how the loss of the mass generators would have effected everyone. It's supposed to be set in a completely different galaxy, so that will be interesting to see how they got there. And how the legend of the "shepherd" lives on.

That's a problem that a mod like that will run into. Since they don't have the writing team and resources of the original developers, making it all fit and be meaningful would be pretty difficult.

That's interesting. I know there is at least one DS scenario where ***SPOILERS***  you have Zaalbar kill Mission and then you have to kill Zaalbar.

I saw the one from E3 and it looks good. I was a little disappointed that there was no gameplay in the one that I saw, just cut scenes. But I'm definitely interested in where they take the story. If it's any good I might actually break down and buy an Xbox One next year.

T3 didn't have a lot of personality at all in this game, but he did in KOTOR II. It makes him a somewhat uninteresting character for KOTOR I, but the progression actually makes a lot of sense in lore because KOTOR II addresses that droids regularly have their memory wiped in order to control them. So when T3 was purchased from the droid shop he likely had just been wiped and was kind of a blank slate. Then by KOTOR II he had gone a long time without a wipe (Bao-Dur actually asks him about it) and has developed a lot of odd quirks, which work into his character development in the game. But you're right, outside of the Sith base I normally just gave other team members high skill stats to match his and left him on the Ebon Hawk.

HK was awesome. I recently got to see all of his restored memory scenes (never unlocked them before because I didn't have a high enough repair skill) and they are hilarious. I love how he basically got all of his previous owners killed. And his commentary on situations if you have him in your party is awesome. He as the perfect blend a humorous yet sadistic killer.

They did an M4-78EP version, not sure if that's the one you played but that's the one I have downloaded. I actually just recently saw a post from the team lead of the project about his thoughts on the finished product. Here's the link if anyone is interested

Ok I have added the m4-78 planet mod so I'll post here how well it works. I also am trying the flawless HD mod for the game and so far it's running fine at 1080 and looks great. I am just getting to Telos so not really into the modded content yet. But man the graphics in these games have aged really well. They both still look really solid.

I like that 2 gave you that option rather than the "kill all of your party members" darkside ending in KOTOR 1. It makes much more sense; I really didn't think that even Dark Lord of the Sith Revan would have killed all of those party members because he was too smart for that. He would have known how to influence them and use them on his side rather than just kill them off.

Malak... is perfect for the game, but he is a blunt instrument character. Revan was great at strategy and had a very charismatic presence that naturally drew people too him. Malak was a fairly powerful Jedi, but didn't seem to have the foresight to plan a war well and was to egocentric to listen to men like Saul Karath who actually knew what they were doing.

He got impatient looking for Bastila and decided to carpet-bomb a city planet that his own forces occupied. That's not ruthless, that's just stupid. Not stupid writing, just a character without the common sense of a gizka. I believe that he actually lost his jaw when Revan ordered him to take Telos and instead he and Saul just wiped out the planet... and Revan got royally peeved and had to punish him.

Not yet. I also want to give the M4-78 mod a shot as it adds a whole planet of content. For those interested KotOR 2 got an update on Steam that includes widescreen HD and full TSLRC support.

So The Sith Lords Restored Content mod is in version 1.8 now. I've added it to my playthrough and I'm working on going through it now. So far it's been stable, but I've only encountered a few minor changes in dialogue. Looking forward to more content soon.

If anyone else is interested in trying it here is the link:

It was really good that they added the training/influence option. I wish they would have had time to add loyalty missions like they did in Mass Effect 2, but the training being open to either lightside or darkside (depending on the PC allignment) was a really nice touch.

I don't think Drew (the writer) had a full grasp of who Revan was until later on in his story arc. I have emailed back and forth a few times with Drew and gained some interesting insight about who Revan truly was. He is such a complex and realistic character that know how he truly thought is beyond us. Of all the characters in Star Wars. Revan seemed to most human to me.

Do you know how much of a hand he had in the TOR version of Revan... because from what I've heard they took him in a different direction than a lot of fans were thinking.

Agreed Jest.
