Well, I re-installed KOTOR II by running installshield rather than Autoplay... and it worked!!! Huzzah! Well, now I am off to find some cheat codes, so that I may get a lightsaber early on! Thanks for your patience and help!

I'll just stick to KOTOR I, then...
Thanks for your help, though!

I uninstalled the game and...
now it refuses to re install. My computer won't recognize the
CD when I put it in the tray, and I can't re-install the game.
I think there is something wrong with the game CD...
It may be worth stating also that I used the windows uninstall feature.

Thanks again. I will delete the whole "SWKotOR2" file under LucasArts, then.

Would re-installing the game solve the problem?
Also, I can't switch operating systems or use the X-box version
(because my infernal X-box 360 and backwards compatibility go
toghether like cats and water). The only reason I am so persistent
about fixing my troubles with KOTOR II is because I want to enjoy
the game again, and I have no other choices to do so...
Thanks again for your guidance. After this, I promise I won't
bother you further with my questions...

Hello again. Sorry, but I have one last question to ask.
When I attempt to begin a new game, the screen is entirely black. On the Ebon Hawk, I am able to hear audio just fine, and when I hit escape, I am brought to the menu system, which functions properly. I can load savegames from my other character without incident, too. I think it may be an issue with missing files in the game. If anybody has time aid me in this battle between me and Windows Vista, I would really appreciate it. Thank you once again for your time.
Also, I have not posted in other forums yet, becuase I can't think of anything valuable to say, and I would rather remain silent than open my mouth and sound foolish...

Thanks for your help. I have 2GB of memory, but much of it may be taken up by other games and add-ons for them. I will try what you have said. Thanks again!

Topic: Vista Save And Load Issues (among Others) (45 replies, posted in Editing, Modding and Troubleshooting)
Hello
I just recently bought a copy of KotOR 2 and had some initial problems with start up. After installing a patch, I managed to get the game working, but now I can't load any games that I manually saved. Only autosaves work.
When I begin to load a saved game, the loading screen shows partial progress, but doesn't load all the way. WHen I open up the Window's Task Manager, it says they the game is running properly, and when I end the application, the game brings up a message bar that asks, "Do you want to quit the game?". Does anybody else have this issue? Is there a patch?
ALso, it may be worth noting that when I attempt to start a new game, the opening scroll plays, but the Prologue only playes audio, and my screen remains black.
A last note, I have tried to play the X-box version, but I am using an X-box 360, which causes a lot of combat issues an sound glitches, and when combined with my television's terrible picture quality, I would be better off trying to fix my computer copy.
Thank you for your time!
Also, if I need to give more information to help solve the problem,
please tell me to do so!
