People keep saying its a rip off of Battle Royale also. They're fighting because many years ago the poor people from the country's districts rebelled against the capital and were defeated, and to punish them and keep them in line the leaders of the capital make them randomly select two kids from each district every year to send to the "Games", which are then broadcast to the whole nation live.

The thing is that its been going on for so long that the people in the capital now treat it like a sport/reality tv show, and the districts are reaching the breaking point.

So the Hunger Games came out this weekend and blew everything else out of the water...in ticket sales at least. I thought it was a good movie; not the best, and not as good as it could have been, but good. There was too much shaky cam tho. And some of the acting was a little lame (especially Rue in her final scene). But I'd recommend it to people still. I did see myself at the very end standing behind Gale, so that was cool. And one of the locations where they shot was at a waterfall where I go hiking a lot.

The snake symbol actually predates the Revolution, and was drawn up by Benjamin Franklin during the French and Indian war. Chrono's right that the "Don't Tread On Me" with the rattlesnake was used during a joint operation by the Navy and Marines in the Revolution. It was also painted on the Marine's drums.

Somebody with money is.

I've always wondered if a guy that tortured would actually be able to yell that loud for that long.

Although if anyone could understand Prince, it would be Jest or Starr.

Interesting test, Prince. Here are my results http://www.politicalcompass.org/printab … p;soc=1.23
Personally I'd consider myself to be little bit further right than that. Probably affected by using a "dislike" instead of a "strongly dislike" or something along those lines.

That whole part kinda bugged me. It seemed so pointless since it didn't go anywhere. If you're not going to finish something, it end up just being padding.

The remote was pretty cool. I wish they'd been allowed to tie up that loose end at the conclusion of KOTOR II

I need to read this book, although I heard a lot of that negative feedback you mentioned. Sounded like a let-down.

I do.

I hear ya Starr. Although since Angry Birds got their own Facebook app recently, that'll end up eating a lot of people's time now too.

Exactly. They also used live ammo for all of their actions scenes, so those are real bullets being fired and destroying cars and stuff.

Epic Prince. This is a good one too... The London Philharmonic Orchestra did an album of about 20 or so video game themes, and this is one of my favorites:

Has anyone seen the Star Wars Holiday Special? I watched the Nostalgia Critic's review of it, and it was so terrible. What was George Lucas smoking when he ok'd that? It seems like he either makes really good movies, or really bad movies (ehem, Howard the Duck)... cool
