Shab rests one hand on a blaster, but makes no move to use it, whilst she surreptitiously uses her other to hack into the turrets via a datapad to take the targeting off her.

Shab: There's three jobs on the board. The hit. The double-cross, and the job. Either you're bluffing, or someone posted the job hoping someone would be daft enough to take it in the hope you'd simply kill them. Guess that makes me daft, but after following you, I knew both killing or double-crossing you would be lethal and stupid, and probably a rather bad idea.

Shab turns back to the droid, finishing up her work before heading back to the merchant to collect her parts. As she waited she fidgeted with her options, before taking the parts and dashing off in seemingly the opposite direction, taking the back routes which she knew far too well.

She arrived just before Jester entered the Sith Base, coming to an abrupt halt in front of him. She regards the door suspiciously, before turning back to Jester.

Shab: Not going in there, and I know I'm going to regret this, but there was a job posting on the board. Is that still open?

Xam: Him, no. Your friend, maybe. But telling takes all the fun out of life.

Xam smiles as she leaves the data pad in front of the two and saunters back off to running the bar and bounty board, among other things.

Xam: *holds up a datapad* Name, brief description, ship name and dock. Either take it or walk away, it makes no difference to me, I can get this done other ways. But... I won't give you this unless you're both agreed.

Shab turns around slowly to confront the voice, coming to a calm stop facing the man she had originally been following, whilst she summed up whether or not to take any of the jobs. She folds her arms loosely against her stomach, knowing that he knows exactly how easily she can reach her weapons from there. It's not a threat, but an acknowledgement she knows how dangerous he is, and that she is prepared to defend herself if need be. Her tone is light when she talks.

Shab: Retired, in a sense. Tells me every day not to talk to Force-sensitives; causes nothing but trouble.

Xam: I'm not asking you to fight, that will get you killed. All I am asking is that you ensure that his pilot knows that Shab Kyja is on Junkka. It will delay their original plans. How much more involved you get is up to you, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Xam smiles as she turned back to lean on the bar, facing Sara Jane, leaning on her elbows and folding her hands in front of her, sizing the girl and her friend up. As a plan forms in her head she pours them both a drink, oozing calm and suggestion.

Xam: If you're going to insist on such suicidal acts - everyone in this cantina is armed my dear - then perhaps I can suggest a better way to interfere with his plans.

As she pauses Sara Jane and Venrii exchange a look, one that Xam knows that whilst they're not yet convinced, they're considering.

Xam: He went to too much trouble to hide his associations, and my bosses know. All I need you to do, is ensure that his pilot knows an old associate of his is on Junkka. That way you disrupt your new friend's plans without trying to provoke someone who is that dangerous.

As she works Shab easily locates her original target, this time being engaged by a man who she can feel the self-righteousness flowing off. It adds to her growing sense of unease, so she turns back to the droid, accessing different subroutines this time.

Xam: *answers comm* Yes?

Voice: Is Kraven's bounty on the girl still up?

Xam: He hasn't paid us any fees to advertise for a long time.

Voice: Will he still pay?

Xam: *hesitates* Only if the conditions are met - she has to be alive & reasonably intact -, there are severe punishment if you overstep listed. But I dont know if he will pay even so for a job so old.

Probably because those two groups are the ones who do the recruiting and teach people how to use it.

Though I remember something about the Zeison Sha not trusting Jedi, or outsiders in general.

But the exile can turn people to the dark side too, so surely the sith wouldn't necessarily hide... Not to mention the exile can also sway them to the light too, so they might not hide either.

Whatever my problems with EA, it's still Bioware, the characters will be awesome as usual.

Basically you believe that neither side knows everything and that both sides have their benefits and their flaws, and you prefer to find your own way taking the best bits of both, therefore end up in between.

I like to think I would be a grey jedi, but I'd probably die long before I could come to that conclusion in the SW universe.

Also why are they always referred to as grey jedi and not grey sith?

Merchant: You can't afford that, Shab, stop looking.

Shab: I know how much that costs, Blue, and I can see that your droid is playing up again.

Merchant: It works fine.

Shab: Your choice, but good luck finding such a good deal when his sensory matrix shorts. *pauses, looking at the droid struggling to categorise parts* And based on his current predicament I bet his memory matrix won't last longer than the week.

Merchant: *considers* Deal, but only if I see visible results within the hour.

Shab smiles as she reserves the ship part whilst paying for the rest, but hesitates before she approaches the droid, the odd sensation of being watched, unsure if she dared to turn around to look. Instead she walked to the droid before it looks suspicious, and sets to work, whilst scanning the area to try and determine who might be watching her.

Xam catches the second punch and easily twists the young girls arms behind her back.

Xam: I am part of security. *pauses* And you are aware Falleen don't fall under suggestion of the Force that easily, aren't you?

The girl stops struggling as she registers what Xam just said, and Xam can sense the tension rising in her friend at the mention of the word force. Xam sighs in defeat, apparently none of them are open to suggestion either.

Xam: Right, out, all of you. If you're going to insist on fighting, you can do it outside.

Encouraging the girl outside isn't difficult for someone with Xam's lengthy experience, and her friend follows rather willingly. Xam leaves them at the door with an apology, but rules are rules.

After glancing to ensure Xam is as in control as Shab knows she will be, Shab orders another drink, watching her original target leaving, and decides that even involving herself in any of those jobs would probably result in her getting killed.

Instead she peruses the job list that is hosted in the cantina whilst ordering another drink. Downloading the info for the ones that look most fun; a collection of artefact grab and extractions.

Once she's happy she has enough work, Shab downs her drink, and leaves the cantina to head to the market place to pick up the supplies she needs.

Hm, maybe when I get back off holiday I'll create a thread (if Beautiful Chaos doesn't kill me for posting in her arena) (or someone else doesn't do it whilst I'm away) to see if it can work; where someone suggests a loose theme and some characters to see what someone else can come up with, or something.

It might be a total failure, but you never know.

Taris isn't too bad, however I found it has little replay value, so it gets boring quite quickly when you're replaying.
