Yeah, I didn't get what she was trying to accomplish either. It's not like she could get very far even if he didn't drop her to the rancor.

Kip shakes his head as the three head off to gather their gear. Turning to Beren, he says, "One day that girl is going to bite off more than she can chew, and I won't be there to get her out of trouble."

"She handles herself well. Don't worry," Beren returns. Typical of the Kel Dor, he was a man of few words.

"If she takes the situation seriously, she is fine," Kip returns. "It's when she is trying to have fun or prove a point that concerns me. As she seems to be doing with this mission."

They began the walk to the hanger. Kip began going over the situation in his mind. They had an impressive team for this mission. Cat, a master in hand-to-hand, close quarters combat. Raid and Ash, intimidating giants with enough physical power between them for nearly half a dozen men. Beren, technical specialist, skilled infiltrator, and exceptional Force warrior. And Jentress, the young cadet, one of the best sharp shooters in training.

It was a good team, one that he had no qualms about trusting. He only hoped that they would arrive in time to catch the trail of these new Jedi killers.

That was what really puzzled him. Many times in the past, there had been those who had tried to hunt Jedi. Usually they were the followers of the Sith, and that had been his first guess at who was behind these assassinations. But the pieces were not fitting together. None of the Jedi had been killed with energy weapons, that much was clear. Those who had recovered the bodies had found that their lightsabers would not even activate. Something was not right about these deaths...

Dang!!! Headbutting a Zabrak is pretty hard core!!! Lol

"I thought you were going to recruit your team, not paralyze them," Kip mutters, rolling his eyes. Deep down though he knew that Cat's skills were going to prove useful against their enemies, as they had many times already.

At the appreance of Ash, the Twi'lek Jentress nearly jumped out of her skin. Kip and Beran had both met Togorians before, but Kip had great respect for the race...their strength, their skill, their ability to train animals like the mosgoths to their ways... Overlooked by much of the galaxy, a Togorian could be a strong ally...or a deadly enemy.

"Welcome to the team Ash," Kip replied. Turning to Raid, he frowned. "How many times have I told you that if you insist on fighting Cat you are going to end up in a repulsor chair? You are no where near that level of skill yet." A wink that escaped though signified that Raid's skill was improving.

Turning to Cat, he said,

"If you are quite finished, let's move out."

Oh, and about the Bieber thing, I wasn't really modeling it after him, although I guess it does look a bit like that. I was actually modeling it after one of my cousins, who actually had an account on here for a while as Darth Atrian. big_smile

Thanks guys. Yes, Konah, I drew that. I used Photoshop to soften and blur the colors so the surface looks smooth, instead of the typical grainy look of some of my other pencil drawings.
No, not Revan, just a dark Jedi. cool

"Cat," Kip calls. "I thought you were going to gather your squad, not seduce them."

He shakes his head. Sometimes he wondered why he had made Cat his second in command. He reminded himself that her skills were unsurpassed by any in the enclave save himself, and that she was more loyal than anyone he had ever met. Yet her methods...left something to be desired.

"You still have another squad member to find," he reminds her. "When you're quite finished, we'll be waiting for you at the hanger bay."

He turns with his students and walks out.

Bao places the medpak on Lsugi. "It may help him hold on until we can get the medics here," he says. Suddenly his expression changes. "You're right. The force is being drained somehow...hmmm..."

"I thought Master Orcor was in conference with Master Ti'gla, but who know where they are in this mess. If they even survived."

-----meanwhile----------

The original idea for the trip to Yavin now seemed pointless. Skywalker had been going to attend a graduation ceremony, but instead was recruiting volunteers for a rescue team. Several of the volunteers had been former combat students under his teaching. He smiled to think of these young warriors now training their own padawans. Hopefully here on Yavin they could avoid the politics that seemed to infest the Academy on Coruscant.

Very few Jedi remained at the enclave on Yavin. But even as he looked at the group of Jedi knights and padawans crammed together in the shuttle, Tran knew that it would not be enough to confront whatever evil had caused the destruction.

Kip notified Beran and Jentress that they would be a part of the investigation squad. They all geared up, and were headed toward the hangers when they were noticed that there was a loud commotion.

"Oh, what now!" Kip mutters, striding towards the arena.

Bao shook his head as he ran over. This day was going from bad to worse. First he had been summoned before the council and reprimanded for his actions on Raxus Prime. Of course the council had taken the situation completely out of context and relied on the testimony of that worthless Duros pilot. Every one of those Jedi Masters would have done the same thing in his position.

Then he had been reassigned to some back water outpost in the Outer Rim. This was obviously continued punishment for his secret "alliance".

Then, to top it all off, there was this attack on Coruscant.

"My life is just falling apart!"

He had been walking by the dueling center when the explosions started. Bao had created a force shield around him that warded off most of the debris, but had been unable to reach Mikaela or Lsugi when the platform crashed down. He runs over when Mikaela gestured for help and kneels over Lsugi.

"I have a medpak," he says. "Are you ok, Mikaela?"

------Meanwhile------------

Tran Skywalker's shuttle was nearing the Yavin Academy when he received the holo message. He hadn't been expecting anything like an attack on the capitol planet. It was true that he had been reluctant to leave the Temple for the ceremony on Yavin; but that was because of his growing mistrust of the ambitious young pair of Masters, Ti'gla and Grom Talen. Since they had been appointed the the Council they had changed greatly, and were seemingly trying to take over the whole Jedi Order.

But now something was happening that was greater than Jedi politics.
