(I've no idea what rules came before tbh)
807 - game play is easier with certain character classes in all games. In KOTOR don't bother taking non-Force users, even if they're more interesting.
808 - mods are amazing. (incidentally one exists to enable a male MC to punch Carth, Jester
)
Oh there is so much politics on Manaan.
Though I do wish they had done the whole of the intended Sunry thing. I mean, wtf is with the mysterious stranger telling you they're both pawns and then that's the ending they chose for that quest? I dunno, felt like something major changed about it but they didn't remove all references to it.
Not according to my sleep deprived brain. Seriously when i got to the work the next day and was clearly tired the guy at the desk next to me was like "what's up with you" before fully accepting the response of "KOTOR 2".
But yeah, in the first one you can sort of scramble through regardless of order (though I think the Darth Bandon fight difficulty changes depending on planet). Not in the sequel though.

Yeah, that's what he ends up doing, but there's nothing about in between. Did the Jedi just let Revan go because defeating Malak was good enough "redemption"? I know they pin a medal on the entire squad at the end of KOTOR but that doesn't mean there aren't still repercussions for Revan to face.
Especially awkward given that Revan's memories are patchy at best. So there's the added angle of separate personalities (loosely speaking).

One of my colleagues said that they did a massive switch for IX and that the whole emperor story line wasn't the original plan. I can't remember the why though.
Is Dxun the Mandalorian one? Because when I first played I went there WAY, WAY too early.
I love the story lines on Manaan!
I mean, okay, it's a bit of a bugger to get around and stuff, and I'm still confused by the random argument you encounter as you literally step off the Ebon Hawk, and the clearly changed halfway through Sunry investigation... but some good plot stuff happens there.
My point was that the films have a history of avoiding dealing with the consequences of a Sith Lord returning to the lightside by just killing them off after their redemption.
I can't remember how they handled Revan because it's been a LONG time since I played KOTOR 2 (if it's even mentioned).
But having created this narrative that a force-sensitive can almost "choose" their alignment complicates matters (massive over simplification, I know). Because it's not as simple as X did Y because X has "redeemed" themselves. But does that get them off the hook for the original atrocities?
It's easier to kill them off.
Yeah... and how did he finish the film?
Darth Jester wrote:The Rise of Skywalker ended wrong in my book because I would have had it where Rey died saving Ren who still turned back to the lightside after helping defeat the Emperor. This would have made more since he actually has Skywalker blood.
They could never do this because there's too many moral questions about what you do with a man who's killed thousands in the name of the Dark Side but then atones to become Light Side again. Seriously, you just let that guy go and do... whatever?
Tbh I don't remember that much of the film. I just remember thinking it was A New Hope but with different people.
I mean couldn't the entirety of VII be considered a rehash of IV? So many similarities.
Tbh I didn't mean it as a criticism of KOTOR. KOTOR actually deserves credit for being a turn based combat game that I don't actually hate the combat in.
And I'll get around to Jade Empire one day...
Were you stuck in the same way because Vista was a pile of poop and couldn't load the Taris underworld?
My view on Andromeda is that it's a good game, but compared to the mass effect games that came before it, it feels like a let down. But that's more a comment on how good they were.
Also make sure you have all the patches, because the earlier versions were glitchy! Tbf I think there's still a few glitches knocking around because they stopped supporting it.
