fan fiction scrollDuel On The Ravager 3

 Star Wars

The first asteroid that collided with the Ravager caused the entire ship to rumble, knocking some officers off of their feet. Darth Nihilus neglected the fact that his vessel, already worn from countless battles, and lacking a shield system, was about to sail through the deadliest asteroid belt in the Outer Rim. Not only were the asteroids jagged and large, but the field was so dense a small fighter would have trouble navigating successfully to the other side.
A desperate officer directed his focus on Darth Nihilus, who was being surrounded by the Jedi Masters. “My Lord! We must turn around before we receive the full impact of this asteroid field!” Darth Nihilus turned and said, with loathsome spite, “Proceed!” The officer turned back to the crew, not daring to question the Sith Lord’s demand. “All shields to the bridge!”, then he added, for the less experienced officers, “This is not a drill!”
Darth Nihilus clicked his saber off, and with a hiss his crimson blade dissipated. “You Jedi cannot comprehend the power I have learned. I no longer bow to the will of the Force, rather, the Force bows to me. I have corrupted a planet, rendered it helpless, and consumed it– without the need to even confront my victims. What I wield is vastly superior to any tricks of the Force leaned by those before. I am Darth Nihilus, Lord of Consumption, and victory will be mine!”
Nihilus honed his attention first on Dorak, who was the closest of his adversaries. Nihilus gave a subtle nod, but it was enough to encourage and taunt the foolish Jedi to charge him. Dorak had his purple saber raised high and was prepared to let his strike descend on the Sith Lord. He froze just before he could land his attack, Nihilus had caught the blade and held it still with the Force. “Now you will witness my power!” Nihilus declared triumphantly as the purple blade sunk against Dorak’s will. Vandar and Zhar watched, paralyzed in horror, as the blade in Dorak’s grip reverted and grudgingly worked against it’s former master. Nihilus crackled with laughter as the blade hovered inches from Dorak’s bald, sweating head. With a jerk of his hand, Nihilus sent the blade down, as easily as if giving a salute. Dorak’s scream was deafened by the groan of the Ravager as a particularly large asteroid slammed against the haul of the ship.
Visas could feel the Jedi’s defiance, his final outcry, and then his silence. It was the silence that always accompanied the dead warriors, who were not yet ready to be made one with the Force. In Dorak’s case, however, he would be consumed, never allowed to find peace in the after life.
