Soren doesn't blink, his eyes widened slightly in what can only be assumed as shock, the Black Raider starring at John in stunned silence. He quickly regains his stoic composure, however, those devilish lips curling into a subtle and yet irritatingly cocky smirk.

"You easily claim power and authority, Mr. Antilles, and yet you stubbornly refuse to realize it is not your own," the Samuac halfbreed observes cooly, his voice weighed with blatant superiority which only succeeds in aggravating the Major further. "I find it amusing that some spoiled child, who has gone through his life riding on his father's coattails, can expect so much simply because of some title."

"Let me make something very clear, Mr. Antilles," Soren continues with strong emphasis, those stormy grey eyes glaring into John's own, refusing to submit. "We may be bound to you by our contract but unless you are able to prove your worth as an efficient leader then the authority you so arrogantly believe you possess over us shall be ripped from your grasp..."

The Black Raider brushes past the younger man towards the elevator, purposely bumping shoulders with him, John's eyes narrowing as he glances back at the retreating Samuac halfbreed. Soren suddenly stops and turns his head slightly, the Major catching the edge of that cold gaze.

"We shall allow you to keep your 'disillusioned' authority for the time being," he adds slowly, "simply because it has yet to jeopardize our work. You would be wise to remember, however, that my men and I are not here to babysit some inexperienced boy who wants to play soldier, is that understood?"

The Black Raider sighs in a frustrated manner as if dealing with a child, massaging the bridge of his nose. "We are as much your shield as we are your sword, Mr. Antilles," he continues absently after a brief moment of silence, his voice laden will subtle, aged wisdom, "but if you do not put us to good use do not expect us to easily stay your enemy's blade when it finally reaches your throat..."

Soren's attention returns to the elevator as the doors slide open and he snaps unexpectedly, Omega's gaze immediately finding those slender fingers poised in the air. "Omega," he demands calmly, "withdraw from Aria's systems."

"Yes," the mechanical organism complies without question before following the Black Raider into the elevator.

but Kyle's right. RemixME3 is a work of beauty.  we've been doin some sick work on it. we're almost done. so close i can taste it. i couldnt even work on the thing last night because me and my colleague were swamped with work. i hope we can be done by this week.

i promise i'll have a post soon, though. just bear with me sweetheart.

I know life can be demanding. Don't worry. Went ahead and edited my post a little more though while I'm waiting cause Soren went a little out of character... but he's back now.

"I can drop the elevator to the lower level and vent them through the airlock if you wish..." Aria suggests with a frustrated tone.

"No...." John responds. "He has quite the resolve. I'm starting to like him..."

"You're kidding...."

"No. He has no fear. Which means he'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. I trust the same is true of his comrades. And no game of dejarik can be played without pawns--strong pawns--...and they will make excellent pawns, indeed."

"I like where your head's at, sir." Ada says.

"Of course you do. That's why you're on my team."

"Sir, we're about to reach our first planet." Jak interrupts.

"That's why the Horizon is the best ship in the galaxy: strong, durable, fast, efficient. All you'll ever need in a ship.

"With the best pilot to make her dance... ETA is about 5 minutes."

"Roger that. Ada, tell the leader of our....guests....to suit up. You have the ship."

"Yes, sir." Ada replies. She proceeds to the elevator to find the Raiders.

John looks at Jester with a smug smile on his face. "You never know when a crazy son of a b**ch will come in handy....release him" he says to the jailer. "Are you sure about this, sir?" the jailer replies uneasily. "Very. Set him free."

The jailer releases Jester from the cell....

--Meanwhile--

Ada catches up to Soren and the Raiders. "Your loyalty is about to be tested, Saumac. We're approaching our first planet. The major wants you on the ground with him. Get suited up, yes?
