Em: (stands up, grabbing an assault rifle from one of the dead Marines)
Get all the ammo you can carry. I've got a feeling we're gonna need it.
(picks up some ammo before quickly jumping out of the escape pod)
(looks around)
Let's go Sergeant.
...Phantom, controls...
Laus: My scouts have found a rather interesting structure on the Holy Ring. The Prophets seems to believe it may lead us to the Oracle.
* A radio message comes in as soon as they get under a small ledge... *
Foehammer: (Radio) "Any UNSC personel read me? I repeat - any UNSC personel respond!"
Jay: "That's foehammer!" (Transmitts radio to ear-piece) "Foehammer, this is Sergent Jay Garlan. We're near of crashed escape pod - evac possible?"
Foehammer: "I see your position and tracker present on my radar. That landing won't cut with Covie patrols puppy guarding that location - do you see a structure to your north?"
Jay: (Looks out) (Radio) "I see it!"
Foehammer: "Okay -- I have Marine transponders blinking over there. Master Chief and Cortana are defending them, move to that location and I have a fair to pick you with the other marines up!"
(( Meanwhile... ))
Thell: "This is astounding news!" (Thell nods) "What is the plan?"
(Grim and Xavior make it to the edge of the buildings and take cover behind a rubble pile)
Grim: (Looks at Xavior)
Grim: Do we move in or wait for back up?
Em: (loads her assault rifle)
Covie's will hit dirt here in a few minutes. They don't have enough landing room for their ships so let's get going while we've got a head start.
...Phantom, controls...
Laus: (makes a small motion with his hand)
We are still waiting on some details but there is a small issue.
Grim: Look at that.
(A small group of Covenant soldiers walk through the middle of the buildings and enter the tallest building)
Jay: "Your right, let's move."
* Jay moves out of the covering with Em to Foehammer's nav point... *
(( Meanwhile... ))
Thell: (Crosses arms) "How small is this issue?"
Xavior: I see them Grim. Doesn't look like there are too many, just enough to make it interesting. Let's see if we can make something happen.
(RADIO comes in to Grim and Xavior...)
Foehammer: (Radio) "Any UNSC marines down there? I'm picking up your transponders."
Em: (pushes Jay behind a rock, ducking behind one not to far from him)
(whispers) s**t... Covie patrol up ahead.
(she glances over the rock, careful not to let them see her)
(she looks back at Jay)
We can't take 'em out without attracting too much attention... we might be able to make our way around them, but I doubt it.
...Phantom, controls...
Laus: We seem to be... well, blocked.
Vali: (nods) By a rather inmovable structure.
Laus: We would have no problem destroying the thing, mind you, it is just that the symbols... are warnings.

Not really going along with the whole "Halo" stroy with the Elites I suppose... but hey, it spices it up a bit. 
Grim: (Looks at Xavior)
Grim: You got it.
(Grim and Xavior move in closer and begin to move in)
Xavior: We should split up. I'll move along their right wing and get in position, and you can attack from behind.
*Xavior moves off and sneaks along the right side of the squad, hiding behind objects and in the shadows*
* Jay looks over the rock and sees the patrol party consisting of 2 Elites and 5 grunts. He smiles and pulls out a frag grenade, hooked onto his belt... *
Jay: "Toss it in the middle, scatter them, and waste some clips. Not one of my bright ideas, but worth a shot... got any other ideas?"
(( Meanwhile... ))
Thell: "Warnings of what, might I ask?"
Em: Nah. I'm with you.
...Phantom, controls...
Laus; The Prophets have yet to decipher the message completely but I am told they seem very... afraid.
Grim: (Moves in closer and sets up behind a group of rocks)
Grim: (Com) Xavior, I am set up and ready when you are.
Grim: (Checks rifle to make sure it is ready to fire and checks to see that the sword is still on my back)
(2 Covenant soldiers come out of the building and walk in the direction of my location)
Grim: Damn it.
Grim: (Drops down where they can't see me)
(The 2 soldiers walk right past me and make there rounds and walk back into the building)
Grim: (Com) Xavior, That was a close one but they did not see me.
* Jay nods, and chucks the grenade over his cover. It thumps across the grass, and lands smack-dab in the middle of the patrol. BOOM! The grenade detonates, and Jay fires over his cover with his Assault Rifle. *
(( Meanwhile... ))
Thell: *Thinking* What is it... I wonder...

Em: (opens fire on what's left of the Covie patrol over her cover)
(laughs)
...Phantom, controls...
Laus: However, we may have found a way around the structure. It is your assignment to find out if we can.

* The patrol party, lying lifeless on the grass, is destroyed... *
Jay: "Alright, let's move."
(( Meanwhile... ))
Thell: (Nods) "When do I leave then?"
Grim: (stands up and moves in right behind the building)
Grim: (Com) Xavoir, I am going in.
Grim: (Sneaks into the back door)
Em: (loads another clip in her rifle)
Well that was fun.

Laus: As soon as you are ready.
Grim: (Looks around the corner and sees a group of Covenant soldiers looking a small object)
Grim: (Com) Xavior, They are looking at a strange object.
