I have GF8800GT athlon x2 5600+ 4GB Ram ... Vista ... Game crash after 1-4minutes usually in room where are 3 siths.. and next 2 comes (video with granates) i try reinstal windows back to XP and no change i think its something with my video drivers (in hardware test .. graphic card is red) but i have new ... pls help

Same here, but i get crash where i in under city on taris (but still i came up with solution with load the game from the autosaves function), and second in ebon hawk Datooine when the ship land there (the previous trick won't work here), once again the game get crash and get stuck in this level, but i come with another solution to try with different OS (I using dualboot XP and Vista). Work in Vista but the same error shows in the next chapter when I must search for Bastila. I already try to reinstall, Update the game and update my driver card but it still crash and now I running out off option. What should I do...
My Spec is P4 3GHz, 2GB Ram, using i945GC Onboard VGA (the test result is yellow).
I am really not sure but you may need to open a new folder but Light Side Master may have more help so PM him and ask.

The yellow test result on the VGA may have something to do with it. One thing to try it to set all of your in game graphics to low, turn off shadows and stuff like that, and have a low screen resolution. also, move around to another location, outside the academy or something, then come back and try to enter the Hawk, rather than going from the same point after the auto save.

There is a patch for vista that you might try, but it sounds like the graphics in your computer aren't going to handle it. Both Kotor games require pretty good graphic capabilities, but fortunately Kotor I isn't as heavy as Kotor II. a 32MB or higher graphics card may solve the problem. a lot of cards now are higher, in the 125 -512 MB range, but you might be able to find a lower one at a discounted price.
Also, try some of the things I mentioned to Sith Lord, and set your in game graphics really low. Make sure all other programs are off, since that can effect game play as well. Hope that helps B)

I instaled older graphic drivers and seems work ... now i am in Taris .... FINALLY!!
well ... if i instal old drivers (nvidia) 169 i have problem with textures and graphic also if i instal new drivers 180 game crash after 1-4 minutes of gameplay .... so i try instal 175 drivers and WORKING without problem ... on vista

So i finally finish both of kotor ..... it was ok except few problems .... display driver stop responding ....<screen was black> but its ok ... now DARKSIDE calls
it true kotor is my favourite game and i finish it 6 times i guess <both> .. never for DARKSIDE <i must fix it> ... but i am CZech and my english is not good, so... i will not keep posting sry

yeah maybe i stay ..... now i play neverwinter nights 2 .... yesterday our great translation team finally complete czech language so i enjoying game .... its great B)
