What type of computer and what system configuration?  Maybe there's something I can do to mine that will make it work too.

Well, no help there. It was worth the attempt though, so thanks.  I guess if your computer munafacturer can't help then the hardware isn't the problem.  Back to vista    smile

I'm really pissed at the fact that I can't play this on my laptop... can I vote twice?  smile  smile   smile

to answer lightside master: I feel more in touch with the exile but I never played KOTOR I.  but I do believe that one press release mentioned it being set many years after the exile followed Revan into the unknown after whatever threat Revan kept secret about discovering.  So, the only way you would play either would be as Kreia was in KOTOR II old and decrepit.

you gettin' some inside info???? i ask with my voice dripping hope.

or, maybe you could upload your character from kotor I or II, and play as the exile you built up already.

You are correct (I just checked) but she HAS both hands meaning it's no later than the harbringer.  Still no peragus lightsaber sad

Will there be an off-line story mode to build up your character so that you don't get noob-raped as soon as you spawn? Has anyone heard more about the development?

Well it seems as though I may not have tried everything after all!  hmmm, why didn't I think to go to them? Thanks again.

the xbox version is exellent but the cheats are pretty limited.  The picture on the back shows Kreia with a lightsaber in her left hand on peragus!!!  Not on xbox!!!
or at least I haven't found any cheat for lightsabers on peragus for xbox.  Know any?  smile

It's because your intel centrino duo, it just won't run KotOR games without a fight.
Try google-ing up some patches, and if you can't find one well, that's that. Sorry. sad

I figured it was the duo but google-ing got me nowhere fast.  GRRRRR. I printed all the cheats and was ready to have a lightsaber on peragus!!!!!!!!!!   LOL. oh well, thanks anyway.

is it just me, or do the default character names seem just a little .....lame? haha

Well I looked at some and found that with a little imagination one can turn one like Tam Ralla into Rala Falar. I like palindromes (read it backwards), and I just take what the game makes up and make them read the same either way. this works with some modern names too.  An Neena from Anne, for example, or, kar Enerak from Karen.  Just something to think about.

played the xbox version to death but I wanted it a little more mobility since I work out of town a week at a time.  Hotels are notoriously boring.

what, when this doesn't work, would you suggest?  it gets to the character selection screen (women only), then, after I choose... black screen of Death!!!  A little help?  please?  I started a new thread with this problem containing much more system details. but seeing as this one already addresses a similar problem...

It would seem as though I am not alone in my vista woes.  I've downloaded and tried the kotor 1 .dll to no avail.  turning off the sound, turning down the visuals nothing seems to work... I cannot play Kotor 2 on my laptop.  It's a Gateway model MA7 with intel centrino duo 2 gig ram, 138 gig HD,  with mobile intel 945GM
chipset family(PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&SUBSYS_0366107B&REV_03
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&SUBSYS_0366107B
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&CC_0300)
display adapter which is twice the required 128mb but is listed as (null) 256mb, which is probably my problem.  Any assistance would be appreciated
