As much as I love Alistair, how would that work for those who chose other than allowing him to remain a Warden? I don't think they'd code for a companion who wouldn't be involved in everyone's game. But I hope he makes more of an appearance than he did in DA2.

Lilitia pretty much summed it up. Alistair can't be a companion because A) He's the King of Ferelden. And kings can't wander around with an adventurer all willy nilly. B) He's a Grey Warden and off doing something that doesn't involve... well, getting involved in a bloody war between mages and templars. C) He's dead.

I heard speculation that one Origins companion and one DA2 companion were returning as companions again. We're pretty much all aware that the DA2 character is Varric but the Origins one is still a mystery. I put my vote on Leliana. Possibly. Maybe. I don't know.

Lilitia wrote:

I hope there's more companion interaction in DA:I than in DA2, it might be that it just seems that way, but I swear there isn't as much interaction as there was in DA:O. It was my main complaint about DA2 once I got into the spirit of the game.

Bioware has stated that the player will be able to speak to companions when desired but not necessarily at every location. Like if you're in a cave trying to hide from a demon that's hunting you down... yeah, pretty sure Varric is gonna call you a nug humper and argue that this is not the best time to be asking him questions about his childhood.

It was a good story, you definitely have a flare for action scenes/lightsabre battles. (I think I might've forgotten to mention this at the time)

Most definitely. I may have to look into getting you to write my fight scenes for New Beginning. tongue

My thoughts as I read this: "Ooh... he's using blood magic! Bad mage. No blood magics."

Seriously though. Reminded me of DA... and that just makes it a hundred times better.

As for the story as a whole: It is absolutely amazing. I love it. It's been a while since I've read some Star Wars fan fiction and this was so beautifully written. You really do have a talent.

I always get stuck on fight scenes. I never know how to word them or describe them properly but you do a fantastic job. And you don't describe too much. Some people do that and it draws away from the story. I catch myself doing it and have done my best to make amends.

All in all, marvelous job. I applaud you.

Well I don't think Luke Skywalker can be called a grey Jedi because there was no Jedi Academy at the time. And later when he created his own Jedi Academy he changed some of the Jedi codes. By that time the term Grey Jedi has disappeared.

True, but even without a Jedi Academy, the Jedi Code still exists. It acts as a form of guidelines and regulations for all Jedi so I'm pretty sure Obi-Wan or Yoda mentioned it at some point during his training. If Luke did not strictly stick to the Code (which he didn't) then he is technically considered a grey Jedi.

Well, I know I'm getting an Xbox One come July. My best friends, who are renting an apartment with me, are planning on getting the Wii U and the PS4 so our place with be game central. I mean we already have a Wii, an Xbox 360, and a PS 3 but the next-gen consoles make it even better. It's fabulous.

Well as far as I have figured. Grey Jedi are Jedi that refuse to follow Jedi policies but still remain on the Light side. So they are really something like Nomads.

Like Jolee.

Konah wrote:

I agree to a degree. I think Grey Jedi open themselves up to both sides of the Force. Less do to with politics and drama of the Jedi, but nothing to do the the morals of the Sith.

Because no one can resist the urge to use Force Lightning. It's awesome.

Jester wrote:

So a grey jedi to me can use both lightside and Darkside Force powers so in that thinking Luke Skywalker would be a grey jedi. The reason I say that is because he is on the lightside but in Return of the Jedi he clearly uses Force Choke on one of the pig guards in Jaba's palace.

Pretty much. Now what makes a Grey Sith?

From what I've seen it looks like it will be the most amazing video game I have ever played. I really don't mind the wait as long as I am not disappointed.

Speaking of DA:I, have they announced any other party members other than Varric, Cassandra, and that Orlesian mage? I've looked around a bit but can't seem to stumble across anything. I mean, Varric is sexy with his charisma and manly chest hair but dwarves aren't my thing.

Of course, after Fenris they'll have to pull off some magically sexiness to impress me. wink

A concept design sketch of a "Grinning Menace," a species to be included in the adaptation of A New Beginning RP. These carnivorous creatures have slight traces of both canid and feline features but they are most often associated with draconic species due to their bone structure and the somewhat rubber texture of their skin.

Their biological name is 'udem azmortem' which, translated from an alien tongue, means "smiling death". Both this, as well as their common name, reference their infamous 'smile/grin' which results from their elongated jaw structure.

Menaces stand about 5' at the shoulders and weigh in at around 600 pounds will females being slightly smaller. They have two eyes on either side of their head with pit sensors located above and below which are often mistaken for additional eyes. Their front paws are larger with longer toes and retractable claws, allowing them to easily grip most surfaces.

Their back paws, on the other hand, are smaller and lack claws altogether. The back legs, however, have extra muscles and tendons allowing for leaps of upwards to 5'. They come in various forms with some having fur and others lacking fur. Those with fur are classified by long or short fur.

Grinning Menaces are bred for their ferociousness. Their vicious nature, as well as a strict pack oriented nature, makes them extremely difficult, if not impossible, to tame and train. They are, regardless, sometimes found as pets and even mounts on rare occasions as they have proven fiercely loyal to those who can establish themselves as an 'alpha'.

Menaces mainly come in white to grey to black in color with various markings [such as spots, stripes, etc.] ranging anywhere from some fluorescent shades to earthen tones. Their fur tends to be a darker color than their skin. Menaces mate for life and produce litters of two to four offspring known as smirks.

Well it's hard to define a "grey" Jedi. I suppose it would be a Jedi willing to do whatever may be necessary to get the job done no matter how immoral it might be. I'm not sure if Mace Windu would be considered a Grey Jedi though. I mean, he never did anything morally questionable.

And just because a Sith has a few good qualities doesn't mean he's any less a Sith really. Besides, it's not like Count Dooku had any good qualities that I can think of. Come to think of it, is a "grey" Sith even a thing? A bad guy who slaughters innocents but pets puppies isn't any less a bad guy if you catch my drift.
