Did anyone play as a female in either DA 1, 2 or 3 if you have played the 3rd game?

Yes on all three.
I also have a habit of basing my first playthrough character on myself (or trying to anyway, there's no way I'd go near a spider that big without screaming like a girl), then intend to go and make loads more characters to explore the different situations/options etc. However most of those other characters tend to only be halfway through...  Life has an annoying habit of getting in the way. tongue

Having said that, DA2 has yet to present me a reason for playing as a male Hawke...

I just wish Leliana didn't wear the hood an DA:I all the time. And I wish she was a romance option for the player.

She does have a bit where she doesn't wear the hood, but they clearly couldn't be arsed to spend much time on her non-hooded head.
And you never know, DA2 gave us an entire new companion as DLC, so they might include some additional Leliana (and other characters) interactions etc if/when they get around to doing some for Inquisition. I imagine a lot of players would want that as an option.

I am unsure what you mean in this context, but I'm not going to say no to it out of hand.
