Now I'm not that sure on the sci-fi theory behind lightsabres, but I remember once reading a theory that the light was bent back in on itself, so each blade is actually a loop of light rather than a straight beam, which might make the whole refracting thing a little trickier, but not necessarily impossible in a sci-fi universe.
Well everything is theoretically possible in a sci-fi universe. As for white lasers there are none, but there are colorless lasers which you can't see, but I guess you can call them white lasers.
And although everyone has their own tastes I still think that having a lightsaber with rainbow colors is pretty ridiculous.

Well if we look at it the scientific way, there is no way to produce "rainbow" light from one source. That is if you would want for your saber to have rainbow colors you would have to put 7 force crystals in it.
I noticed someone mentioning black lightsabers abouve. A Black LIGHTsaber is a contradiction in terms. The only thing in the universe that can produce a black light is a Black Hole. And we all know that they tend to suck in them all of the surrounding matter. So in a sence, a black lightsaber would appear as if it way sucking away light and thus appear black.

736- I wish they made a game with realistic lightsaber battles. Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy came close but it was not perfect.
