Star Wars: KOTOR Story 6-The New Mandalore
Canderous stepped out of the shuttle. He took a big whiff of Dxun’s air and savored it like one would savor a exquisite taste. Good to be here…, he thought. He looked around at the different Mandalorians that had gathered to see the new Mandalore. It was true: Canderous Ordo had claimed the title of Mandalore. He looked at a Mandalorian corpse. “Left over from the Wars, no doubt.” he said to himself as he continued along the path leading to the base. At the end of the path, he saw it: A hidden Mandalorian base, one that had been concealed from the Republic for the duration of the Wars.
“Damn, this place is lucky to have survived!” he exclaimed upon enetering the camp. The only damage that had been done had been caused by nature. Several wires were corroded, the telometry computer was shot, and the vines were growing like crazy. It’ll take forever to get all of this damned stuff to work again!, he thought, astonished at how bad the jungle had invaded. “No matter,” he began, “we’ll get this place cleaned up.” Donning his helmet, Canderous walked out of the base and back into the camp. “My fellow Mandalorians, we will need to gather more scattered brothers so that we may build up once more!” There was a roar of cheering and a thunderous applause. “We will need to get this base up and running!”
“Who here has tech repair skills?” he asked the crowd. One hand went up. “And what is your name, warrior?” The blue-armored Mandalorian stepped forward. “My name is Zuka. I have sufficient enough tech knowledge to get this place up and running. Leave it up to me, Mandalore.” Canderous smiled behind his helmet. “Good. Now,who here is skilled with stealth technology?” Again, only one hand went up. “My name is Kelborn, sir. I was a scout for many people during my years away from Mandalorians, and have gathered a lot of knowledge on the subject of stealth.” “Very well, Kelborn. You will be our scout.”
The special assignments were finished. Xarga had been declared trainer of new recruits. Bralor was to be the strongest fighter, being bested by only Mandalore himself. Kex was the quartermaster, in charge of selling ammo, armor, weapons, and things of that sort. Canderous thought about different things as he watched everyone get to work. He thought, first and foremost, of Revan. I wonder where he went off to in such a damned hurry. He seemed pretty shaken up when he was speaking to me. He then thought about the whole adventure with Revan. He wondered what happened to everyone, where they went, what they were doing. He decided he didn’t need to worry about most of them, except for maybe the little droid T3-M4. Mission had the Wookiee to look after her, Jolee, Juhani, and Bastila were JEDI, HK was a damned assassin droid, and Carth was a Republic soldier. T3 was just an astromech droid, with no specific defense mechanisms. Enough thinking about them., he thought to himself.
Later, everyone was still hard at work. Canderous told them, “Everyone, you may cease for the day. Rest well, Mandalorians, for tomorrow we continue to rebuild!” “YES SIR!” came an eruption from the crowd. Canderous watched as they all found a place to settle. He went into the base. In his quarters, Canderous pondered why Revan had left. Why he said that he, Canderous, should unite the Mandalorians. Perhaps it was because Revan knew he could do it. Nonetheless, he enjoyed his new position. He was going to enjoy being Mandalore. He WOULDN’T fail Revan. This he knew…
A ship floats near the ravaged world of Peragus II. It is soon identified as the Ebon Hawk, Revan’s vessel. However, he hadn’t used it to leave known space. On it are none other than T3-M4 and Norris Ossus! T3 had stabilized it and was now bringing it in for a landing on the Peragus Mining Station. In another part of the Galaxy, Bao-Dur stares out of the window of some facility, thinking about what he was doing there…

i wondered what old Canderous was doing for five years, i knew Revan gave him the Mandalore helmet and told him to rebuild the Mandalorians… but i haven’t given it much thought
