 Canderous OrdoRevan (Female/Light Side)Star Wars

I walked into the hanger. My mind buzzed with events of the day. It had been a long time since I’d had to deal with Jedi. Most Jedi had been too absorbed in their meditations and studies to fight for anything, and that had led to their demise. Only a few had had the courage to leave the order and face the Mandalorians – us. I had to admit that the few that had left were worthy opponents. We had never expected that they would give such a good fight. Now one of them had come here to ask Mandalore, the symbol of the Mandalorians – me, for help.

I checked with the tech that the shuttle was ready to go. He gave a report, military style, just as I had trained him. I turned to leave and tell the Exile that we would leave as soon as she was ready.

I stopped. The old woman that travelled with the Exile walked into the hanger. Her blind eyes seemed to look into me. She started to demand that I look after the Exile; then she said something strange. Her words cut into me. I didn’t know how she could know such things.

“You have had many masters Mandalorian…You followed her to the edge of the galaxy, where she abandoned you,”

At the farthest edge of the galaxy, the Ebon Hawk stood on the surface of a small planet. A small settlement was not far away, but that wasn’t what they were here to see.

The ruins of what must have been a Sith tomb stood tall before me. It vaguely resembled the massive stone structures carved into the rocks of Korriban. I didn’t want to let her go alone, but I waited patiently while Revan was inside the tomb. I didn’t know what she was searching for. All I knew was that it was something to do with her past, with Malak. Her memories had slowly returned and she was seeking out something she had found while they searched for the Star Forge.

I was lucky that he had managed to be here at all. I could vividly remember the night she’s tried to disappear. She’d tried to leave in the middle of the night. I was just lucky to have noticed that something was wrong with how she acted before she took off. It had taken me an hour to convince her to let me go with her. I would have followed her beyond the edge of the galaxy.

I knew that Carth would have taken the blow badly. Especially since she had taken me with her this far, while she left him on Telos.

I woke from my thoughts and looked up. She had emerged from the tomb. I knew the instant she emerged that something was wrong. Her face was grim, yet determined. Her eyes settled on me. I couldn’t work out what, but something had changed about her since she had gone into the tomb.

“What is it?” I asked.

She just shook her head.

“It’s time for you to leave me, Canderous. I have to go and continue a fight I began long ago. You can’t come with me any farther. I’ll drop you off at the settlement. You should be able to get transport from there,” she said.

I stared at her. “I won’t leave you. I said that the night I followed you. I’m going to help you with whatever fight you have to face.”

“I can’t take you with me. I can’t take anything. This is my fight.”

“I’ll follow you wherever you have to go. I won’t let you do this alone.”

“You agreed to leave when I allowed you to come with me this far.”

“I said that I would go with you as long as I can. I’m not going to just leave now.”

“Is that your final word on the matter?”

“Yes.”

Revan began to walk again. I matched her pace and walked level with her. She should have known that I would never have abandoned her to face her fight alone. I walked at her side until we were standing before the Ebon Hawk. The loading ramp descended. HK-47 looked out, seeming surprised that I was still at Revan’s side.

“Query: Did you find what you were looking for, master?” HK-47 asked from the loading ramp of the ship. His rusty red paint shimmered menacingly in the light of the setting sun.

“Yes, HK,” she relied. “Go back into the ship. I’ll join you in a moment.”

HK disappeared into the ship. Revan turned to look at me.

“You won’t leave me, will you?”

“Never,” I said with absolute commitment. If I followed her to the Star Forge, then why would I stop now? I still owed her for helping me get off Taris.

She looked at the ground, avoiding my gaze. I should have known from her expression. Something was horribly wrong, but I didn’t want to believe it. “I’m sorry,” she said quietly.

I heard the sound of her blue lightsaber ignite. I should have been able to stop her. Maybe a part of me didn’t want to stop her. I watched as she plunged the blade into my gut. I fell to the floor.

“I’m sorry,” she repeated. A single tear fell from her eye and fell to the dusty ground at her feet as she left.

It seemed like forever before the medics found me and brought me back to the settlement. I didn’t want them to take me. Without Revan to help I had no purpose; I had no leader. Mandalorians needed a warrior to follow into battle.

I should have just died there on that planet, at the edge of the galaxy.

“You are a man, wounded by a Jedi and encased in a metal shell. You will look after the one I travel with,” the old woman said. She walked away, leaving me alone in the hanger.

Author note: Okay, I don’t actually know what was meant to happen with Canderous after the first game, but this is what I imagine when I listen to Kreia on Dxun. :-)
