fan fiction scrollA Light in the Darkness. Chapter 1 – The Dream

 Atton RandCanderous OrdoCarth Onasi

Okay, this is the first story I’ve ever had the guts to write out let alone let anybody read. Hopefully it turns out alright.

Go easy on me please :)

————————————————-

He was alone. Surrounded by darkness It was suffocatingly close. There was nothing. No sound. No light. He felt the fear welling up inside him.

What’s happening?

Where am I?

Am I dead?

Or just dreaming?

Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, he saw something, getting closer and closer. As if it was born from the darkness. Slowly, he began to see what it was. A cloaked figure walking towards him. He tried to call out to it. But, the figure gave no indication that it heard him.

Finally, the figure reached him. Without looking up it said, almost in a whisper, “You must come to us Carth. She needs your help.”

He could feel the fear lacing his spine, the questions came pouring out, “She? You mean Revan? How do you know her? What do you mean? Is she in danger?”

The figure’s tone remained unaltered, “You understand my meaning well enough, Carth Onasi. If you do not come, he will surely kill her.”

Carth felt the icy, cold hand of terror finally grip at his heart, “Kill her? No! How can I stop him? And who IS he?”

The figure simply raised it’s hand as if it were merely drawing a meeting to it’s close, “I wish I could tell you everything. But, I can’t. There are too many things at stake,” it lowered it’s hand, “Begin with those you used to travel with. They will help you in finding your way,” the figure turned it’s back to him, “Safe journey Carth. I hope we shall meet again someday.” with that the figure disappeared into the darkness.

Carth tried to run after it, “Wait! You can’t just leave like that! How am I supposed to get out of here? What am I supposed to do?” as he finished shouting, he noticed faint glimmers of light in the distance. As if crowds of people were walking towards him with candles in their hands. As they got closer, he saw that they were images, familiar and unfamiliar, moving faster and faster around him. The noise was a growing blur along with the images. And yet, above all of it, he heard it,

Screaming.

He looked around for the source, but, couldn’t find anything. The screams became louder and louder. Finally, he understood.

They were her screams.

He was sitting in bed. Panting. Covered in a cold sweat.

Just another nightmare? No. This was something much more.

He reached over and grabbed the communicator off of the night table.

“Atton? It’s Carth. Look, can you come over right away? It’s important.
