fan fiction scroll19 Revan’s Journal: Dantooine: The Council of Dantooine

 Star Wars

The room in the ruins was empty except for a giant hologram in the middle of the room. The hologram opened and showed a map, or a fraction of what looked like a map and planets that showed what seemed to be where the other parts of the map laid.

I got closer to the map but couldn’t see the details of the map. I felt excited, overjoyed as what I believed to be a myth was finally proven true…

I woke up with a start. I stayed still in my bunker and waited for my breath to steady; another weird dream that made no sense at all.

I got up and went straight to the bathroom and took a cold shower to dispel the dream. The Ebon Hawk was quiet, too quiet. Not wanting to be caught in a towel, I went back to my room and got dressed. As I was about to get out, I realized that the ship was still. I opened the window hatch and sunlight poured into the room. We had landed on Dantooine and I hadn’t realized it.

I quickly took off my armour and went out of the ship in a clean un-tucked tunic and cargo pants tucked into my knee high rugged combat boots. I decided to leave my utility belt on my bunk but brought my blaster pistol holstered in my back and my knife hidden in the bracers of my right forearm. As soon as I got off the ramp of the ship and stepped on Dantooine for the first time, Carth came to greet me.

“Good I was just about to wake you; Bastila is speaking to the Council now.” Carth greeted me in a rather irritated voice.

“What happened now?” I asked.

“Nothing…”

“Spill it Carth.”

“Bastila’s been with them almost all morning all by herself I might add.”

“So? She’s a Jedi and they’re the Jedi Council, what’s so weird about that?” I asked, still puzzled as to why he was pissed off.

“Bastila didn’t even ask them, THEY requested it.”

“Get to the point Carth.” I told him, starting to get irritated myself.

“They requested an audience with you… alone…”

“Oh! That is weird…” I said in surprise.

“Well, you better not keep them waiting.” He said and turned his back on me.

“Hold on Carth, where’s everyone else?”

“Here and there, they’re all in the Enclave somewhere, we’re not allowed to head out.”
With that, Carth left. Seeing that I had nothing left to do, I decided to head for the council room. Seeing that I didn’t know the way, I asked a Twi’lek Jedi named Deesra Luur Jada if he knew the way.

“I didn’t know there were new recruits here on Dantooine, in any case take the corridor on the right and turn left at the end of that corridor.” He told me.

“I’m not; I just need to speak with them. Thanks anyway.”

I headed in the direction which Deesra told me and ended up in a circular room with a dome for a roof. In
the middle of the dome, four Jedi’s were sitting in a semi circle talking to a fifth Jedi which I identified as Bastila. They seemed to be in a heated discussion but as I got into the room, they fell silent. As I got into the range of an earshot a pink Twi’lek addressed me.

“Welcome to the Jedi Enclave of Dantooine Eon Stormcrow, I am Master Zhar Lestin; this is Master Vrook Lamar, Master Vandar Tokan and Master Dorak.” The Twi’lek said.

Master Vrook looked like a man who aged too fast while Master Dorak was a human male with dark complexion that had serious eyes. But it was Master Vandar that truly puzzled me. He didn’t look like any species I knew about. He was a short, probably around two maybe three feet tall, a huge round head, pointy ears and his skin was green.

All four masters gave off an aura of power that gave the air a certain static.

“Filled us in on the events of Taris Bastila has.” Master Vandar spoke in a very strange way.

“I thought the Jedi Council was made of twelve members; and aren’t you guys suppose to be in Coruscant?” I asked them.

“The council which you are referring to is the High Council and yes you are right, we are the council of this enclave.” Master Dorak told me in a deep voice.

“In any case, Bastila has also spoken to us about your strong connection to the Force young man and wishes that you study the ways of the Force in this enclave. However, the council doesn’t see the need for this as you might just awaken a sleeping giant; you seem to be able to control yourself to a certain degree.” Master Vrook said in a rather husky voice, this guy definitely did not age well.

“You can’t possible serious Master Vrook! He may be able to control it now, but what about in the future? What if a situation arises and he is pushed to the Dark Side?” Bastila asked.

“We understand that child, but seeing that he is under your direct command, then I see no reason why you couldn’t intervene should this ever happen.” Master Vrook replied flatly.

“What about his visions then? They’re already a sign that-“At this point I interrupted Bastila.

“What visions? I haven’t been having visions.” I asked.

“Your dream Eon, they’re not just dreams; they’re visions of the past.” Master Zhar replied for Bastila.

“Well that’s on question answered, what about Bastila having the same visions?” I inquired.

“Believe we do that a Force Bond you have Bastila with. Causing you it is to have same visions it does.” Master Vandar answered.

“Huh? How did we get bonded?” I asked in surprise.

“A Force Bond can happen to anyone who is strong in the Force. Normally this happens between a master and his or her apprentice but it can also happen when two Force-sensitive are in danger such as your situation on Taris.” Master Vrook explained.

“Well riddle me this, what does maps have to do with any of this?” I asked them rather sarcastically. I couldn’t believe where any of this was going.

“Maps?” Master Dorak asked.

“Yeah maps. I had a dream, or vision as you call it, this morning about a map. I think it was in some ruins somewhere. If I’m not mistaken, it should a part of a map and other planets where the other figments are.”

“Unexpected this is.” Master Vandar commented. With a slight look at the other three he spoke again.

“Bastila, Eon leave the council room for a while please, much to discuss in private the Council does.”

With that, Bastila and I were dismissed and we decided to head for the mess hall as none of us had eaten.

“So… what happens now?” I asked her.

“I don’t know Eon, for now all we can do is to wait and see.”

We remained silent for the rest of the meal as I couldn’t think of anything to say. I didn’t (or maybe I did) really want to become a Jedi but as Bastila put it yesterday on the Ebon Hawk, it was the only logical choice. In a way, the thought of being a Jedi made me feel… complete.

After we had eaten our fill, we waited in the centre garden of the Enclave, taking in the beauty of the scene and the peacefulness and tranquillity of the place. Before long we were called back to the council room for the verdict of the council.

“Decided the council has.” Master Vandar started.

“In the light of recent events, we will allow this special case and will train you as a Jedi Eon; that is if you are willing.” Master Dorak informed us.

“What exactly is this ‘recent events’ you guys are talking about?” I asked.

“Your visions Eon, we believe that they are of Darth Revan and Darth Malak and the secret behind the Sith Armada.” Master Vrook said.

“If your visions are accurate, we can find out the secret as to how Revan and Malak were able to create such a massive army in a short time and destroy it. This information could end the war Eon, but to accomplish this task, we believe that you need to be trained in the ways of the Force to better understand your own visions, and whatever the secret is as well. No doubt it will be in some way connected to the Dark Side.” Master Dorak explained.

“Know this though, if you do decide to be trained, it will be a hard road, even harder than normal, what normally takes years to learn, you must learn in weeks, days even. This is crucial.” Master Zhar added.

“What happens if I fail?” I asked.

“You cannot.” That was all Master Vandar said.

It took me some time to contemplate what the council said but I came to only one conclusion: Bastila was right; this was the only logical choice. The Council and Bastila waited patiently in silence as I was contemplating and after a few minutes my answer ringed in my ears as it seemed unnaturally loud after a time of silence:

“I accept Masters.”

I never forgot that decision for the rest of my life…
