fan fiction scroll17 Revan’s Journal: Taris: Flight of the Ebon Hawk

 Star Wars

With our tactical helmets on, my assault blaster shouldered, Carth’s blaster pistols drawn and Canderous’ heavy repeater gun steadied on his hips we made our way out of our quarters and straight for the hanger bay where the Ebon Hawk was landed. As we got into what looked like a throne room, there was a large rumble and the room suddenly shook.

“What just happened?” I asked.

“Don’t know, but we better get moving, fast.” Canderous replied.
As we headed into the next corridor, we ran into a group of Twi’lek and Rodian guards heading into the “throne room”. Upon seeing that we were armed, the guards quickly went for their blasters; but we were too quick for them.

I slowed down to a walk to get better aim at the guards and pulled my trigger, Carth was still running forward while Canderous came to a dead stopped and screamed at us “DOWN!” before he started firing. As his repeater came to life, I quickly ducked and kept my head down; Carth dived for the floor as blaster bolts sprayed everywhere.

The noise caused by the repeater was unbearable, especially that we were in a tight corridor and I was practically next to the repeater. When Canderous stopped firing, I slowly got up, even with my helmet on my ears was ringing and looked around. The walls of the corridor were littered with scorch marks where the bolts missed their marks and the guards lying still on the floor.

“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!” I screamed at Canderous.

“What?” He screamed back.

“ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US KILLED? OR ARE YOU JUST GETTING EVEY OTHER GUARDS ATTENTION!”

“IF YOU KEPT YOUR VOICE DOWN THEN THEY WOULDN’T BE COMING NOW WOULD THEY!”

“WHAT?” I yelled.

Because my ears were still ringing, ever sound seemed muffled to me, it took me a moments before the buzzing disappeared and we once again ran for the hanger. Before we got there however, the building started to shake again, this time audible sounds of boom… boom… boom could be heard.

“Sounds like the Sith is bombarding the planet.” Carth said surprised.

“I thought they wanted Bastila alive?” I asked in panic.

“Looks like their patience ran out.”

“All the more reason to steal that ship and get off this now wouldn’t you say?” Canderous butted in.

“Yeah, let’s go.” I replied.

With the Sith bombing the planet, the building shaking and the thought that Bastila, Mission, Zaalbar and T3 might be killed if we didn’t get to the hanger fast enough, made the running seem like an eternity. If they died because we didn’t get to them fast enough, then all the crap we went through would have been worthless. When we got to the hanger a surprise greeted us. Davik and Calo were waitng in front of the Ebon hawk.

“So, you thought you could steal my ship, and leave me here high and dry while the Sith bombarded this planet? I don’t think so!” Davik screamed in anger.

“Let me have them Davik, I’ve been waiting to get a shot at Canderous for a long time.” Calo interrupted.

“Make it quick Calo, if we’re not out of here soon, we’ll be -”

I didn’t wait for Davik to finish speaking, I shouldered my rifle, aimed down my sight and popped a few round before rolling to my left for some cover. A fight ensued and we were hard pressed to make it a quick one as time was running out. The roof was dropping and caving in and if the fight didn’t end soon, even the Ebon Hawk would be destroyed.

“Carth move to the ramp of the ship, Canderous suppressing fire!” I screamed to the two.

Just then, the tactical display of my visor showed that a man in purple armour was on top of a beam about to fire a missile at us. I quickly turned my attention towards him and before I could pull the trigger, a shot from the Sith bombardment hit the roof, causing large debris to fall and hit the beam. Not strong enough to support the weight, the beam gave in causing it to break and the man to fall.

He slowly got up and I realized that I was right; it was Davik on that beam. Calo quickly came to help him get up and might have succeeded if the beam didn’t break off and fall on them, along with a number of large debris which was once part of the roof.

“Eon let’s go!” Canderous shouted at me.

We ran for the ramp of the ship and gunned the engines. Even in all that chaos I still marvelled at the Ebon Hawk, the interior was luxurious. “Wow, Davik really spent a lot of credits on this ship” I thought. The interior really didn’t look like it was a smuggling ship at all; it looked more like a capital ship of the army with all the comforts of a civilian ship. The engines ran smoothly and even as we gained speed, the vessel remained steady.

“Eon to Bastila are you there?” I asked with an amount of panic through the comm. unit of the Ebon Hawk.

“We’re here Eon, were waiting at the pickup point.”

“Stay still, we’re coming.”

“Make it fast, the buildings here are staring to collapse, soon there won’t be a central garden here in the Upper City.”

We got to the central garden in about a minute and without landing opened the ramp to let the rest of the group in. Once safely inside the ship Carth, tilted it towards the sky and pushed the ship to her limits.
While Mission, Zaalbar and T3 strapped themselves in, Canderous quickly went up to the turret pods while me and Bastila ran to the cockpit. Bastila strapped herself onto the co-pilots chair while I got onto the navigators chair.

Soon the stars met us as we reached the vastness of space, but so was the Sith blockade. The Ebon Hawk was too fast for the targeting computers of the capital ships that were focused on bombing the planet but we were quickly chased by the Sith Star fighters.

“Eon set a course for Dantooine, there’s a Jedi Enclave there that will help us.” Bastila shouted.

Just as I finished punching the coordinates in, Carth shouted: “Fighters, coming in hot!”

“I’ve got them in my sights.” Came Canderous voice through the comm. link.

After a few seconds of the ship rocking and the sounds of blaster fire erupting, Canderous voice came through the comm. link again: “Um, I might need some help here!”

“Eon get into the other gun turret, buy us some time till the coordinates are aligned!” Bastila shouted at me.

I ran for the turret control pit on my left and didn’t wait to strap on, I put my hands on the control stick and pulled the trigger, not waiting for my shots to align, who knows, a fighter might just stumble into my shot by accident. As luck would have it, a fighter did stumble into my shot and I aligned myself for the next wave of star fighters. I didn’t have to wait long, as soon as I squeezed the trigger, the ship jumped into light speed and we were finally off Taris…
